Scoota G Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 3000 Kays travelled in the Zed and the only thing that had gone wrong was noisy front brake pads. Quote
Scoota G Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Thanks G although the way i drive it has the same economy as a H2 Hummer. But i didn't build it for economy Quote
Wayne G Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 C5 or other later transmission with lock-up converter? Quote
Scoota G Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Could be the go Wayne. I got some new tricks for the girl throwing out the Edelbrock and replacing it with a Mechanical Secondaries 650 Holley. Also there's the new hood scoop to be fitted soon and the Nitrous kit after i rebuild the engine. Quote
Riceburner Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Hehehe. What sort of hp increase does the nitrous give? Quote
Scoota G Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Hey Gareth, it's an adjustable unit which is entry level 100-150hp. I just want it there for the purge. Quote
KatoKid Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I just want it there for the purge. You need one of these Scoota http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=92 Quote
luvemfast Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 How about you bring the NOS to the Xmas BBQ? And we all pass it around taking tokes, laughing our heads off! Quote
Scoota G Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 How about you bring the NOS to the Xmas BBQ? And we all pass it around taking tokes, laughing our heads off! I thought of that but then on the bottle it says it can be fatal. But hey i'm sure Auszcar would make the national news for the first time. Quote
Scoota G Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 The paint on Lucinda was starting to chalk a little so i gave it a quick sand and threw on some Jet Black on the weekend. I'll redo it again in a couple of weeks just to tidy up bits i missed. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted January 14, 2014 Moderators Posted January 14, 2014 Mark She looks good Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted January 14, 2014 Administrators Posted January 14, 2014 Looking a lot better mate, the flat black was cool but the shiny surface helps show the curves of the old girl. The 2+2's tend to look better in the darker colours also as it tends to make the extended roofline less obvious. Quote
Johnboy Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I personally think she looks much better with the shiny paint job. Nice work Mark. John Quote
Scoota G Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 I just paid the rego on this Zed and traveled about 13.000 Kilometers this past year. Still going strong and i'm currently putting together parts for a killer engine package. Might need another run on the Dyno and some wider tyres on the rear! Quote
Riceburner Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Ooooh sounds promising, what are the plans for the engine? Quote
Scoota G Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 Ooooh sounds promising, what are the plans for the engine? Alloy heads, roller rockers, overbore, full balance, chrome moly pushrods. You get the idea, all the good stuff. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted April 26, 2014 Moderators Posted April 26, 2014 Alloy heads, roller rockers, overbore, full balance, chrome moly pushrods. You get the idea, all the good stuff. And a 3.5" stroke ? Quote
Scoota G Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 And a 3.5" stroke ? It did cross my mind to stroke the engine to 393 but i doubt if i need 500+ horsepower on the street. Or do i? Quote
Brabham Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 There is no such thing as too much power...except maybe when you start twisting the chassis Did you seam weld or reinforce it when you did the engine conversion and is there much weight difference between the L series and the v8 with alloy heads? Maybe an alloy block might be worth considering too? Will the R200 be up to the task? The jet black looks good Cheers Quote
Scoota G Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 R200 are good up to 330 Ft/lbs of torque. The car has extended chassis rails but is not seam welded. The car weighs 1300Kgs as it sits but the weight loss from the alloy heads gets the Cleveland at the same weight as the L series but the transmission is still heavier. I like the black too but it will only be like this for one year. I was either going to go for a stroker or nitrous. Of course you have to build the engine to handle nitrous but it's only a 150 shot so it doesn't require anything dramatic. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted April 27, 2014 Moderators Posted April 27, 2014 I was either going to go for a stroker or nitrous. Why not both Quote
Scoota G Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 I just replaced the engine with this stand in. I needed to get the block that the car was engineered out so i can build the Stroker. Yes, Stroker! I happened across a stroker kit on Gumtree, brand new, and made the guy an offer so i have most of the bits to start building. Quote
Riceburner Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Haha, was that 'diggity' or 'giggity' at the end of the video sounds pretty shweet, what's exhaust the system? Your neighbours must love you! Quote
