Roberto Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I am really looking forward to seeing the dyno. Take some video ! Is it being done on Les' engine dyno? I reckon it will make at least 360 aussie hp.... Quote
peter mc Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 no we are going hi tec its getting done on a superflo 902 so we can send the graph to the US Quote
Gordo Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Planing on doing some exporting are we, you could get busy again Pete. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted March 27, 2012 Administrators Posted March 27, 2012 +1 for video, I want to hear this thing scream. Honestly I'm jealous of this build, wish it was going in my Z. LOL @superflo 902 - Trying to wind up a few yanks? Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted March 27, 2012 Administrators Posted March 27, 2012 What I also find quite amusing about this build is that if you get pulled over by officer plod, it will just look like any other L-series engine in there. Unlike an RB engine which would look a bit fish out of water. What kind of 1/4 mile time do you think this engine would be capable of in a 240z? Given the torque and peak HP? (Ignoring gear ratio's etc..) I'm guessing low 11's. Quote

I think i'm just having a few commitment issues... What kind of 1/4 mile time do you think this engine would be capable of in a 240z? Given the torque and peak HP? (Ignoring gear ratio's etc..) I'm guessing low 11's. The figures i did had it at about a flat 12 sec. I doubt it will do better than that. It will be running a Subi suretrak 3.9 LSD and modified WolfCreek CVs. With Jake driving a mid 14 At least i dont need someone to drive it to the drag strip for me doug Quote
44014 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 At least i dont need someone to drive it to the drag strip for me doug Ha Ha no but with this engine a standard gearbox and your driving ability sure enough someone will be driving it home for you ...on the back of a tow truck. Quote
C.A.R. Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Perhaps you'd like to introduce yourself in the appropriate section, Doug. Quote
Gordo Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Jake, saw your engine today at the Mac shop, looks fast just sitting there, love the 50 mm webers and intake manifold. As my engine is in hospital right now, getting a major by pass , surgery and new limbs fitted. Lucky I have a good Doctor. Quote
peter mc Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 it looks great but i will hpc all the parts when its finished ,, the exhaust and rocker cover and some other bits just to make it look a bit more finished . i have replaced all the bolts with new Nissan bolts so it looks like a new one , its a very tuff motor so i think it deserves it,, i get to into these builds Quote
d3c0y Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I cant wait to see what this thing will do next Wednesday! Thanks Pete for all your millions of hours of hard work and commitment on this project I really do appreciate it. Quote

dat2kman Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Joy! We ALL got our joy, many many years ago, early 1980's listening to Portholes in IFK 250 at many rallies I have a cassette tape, with the original accompanying poster, called "Sounds of Rallying" Nothing like cranking the pharque out of the volume knob and hearing the Toolangie Kid in a Les built 2.4 grunter clearing the dew off the leaves down Powelltown way, on a cold crisp Saturday night. That is JOY Quote
C.A.R. Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 You've been sniffing to much old Avgas again Jason... Quote
