I only have the Willwoods on the front as the rear is a S12setup, I am going to replace the inadequate rear brakes with four potters i think.

The Ar. z brakes will be great once everything is sorted.

This is starting to be very annoying / frustrating as I'm sure I stated recently that the car will basically stay the same so it can be driven and enjoyed .

Simon the brake pads are the Ar.Z ones that are sent with the callipers.Might have to look into the USA hawks, I used the hawks on the 260.

Eastern Creek - new motor not fully tuned, 3 track day old kumho semis, blown power steer (I don't know how people race without it - it killed me having to restle the wheel). 1.50.6

Cars everywhere, there were 40+ cars in our group with some very scary drivers out there.

On a + I did manage to hold off a Audi R8.

In the hairdressers car at QR for shits and giggles with the MX5 club on Monday 21st May.

Got down to a 1:12.8 on the clubman circuit in a stock 1600 NA6 with standard 210k old suspension and very worn RE001 street tyres. Reults are up on Natsoft for confirmation.

Also did a little unofficial training, scaring the bejeesus out of teh club magazine editor showing him the lines to take, and also getting another driver to drop 1.2 seconds from his previous best by following my lines when he was chasing 0.4 second drop to stay in the lead of his class in the club championship.

All in all agood day was had.

Some pretty impressive/competitive times from these 40yo cars, looking foward to getting mine out there once it's done

Wakefield, S15 silvia 180rwkw/coilovers/semis - 1:09.5

Wakefield, BMW Z4M with shagged semis - 1:08s

Thanks mate, the 15 now has an extra 40kw and proper brakes so should pump out a solid 1:08, maybe even a 7 if I can find some good semis. Z4 has a 1:07 in it with some more camber up front and some better semis, pretty fast cars out of the box

1:14 is fast, there's a lot in lines, in one of my old cars went from 1:14 to 1:12 just with my mate showing me where to go. Fish hook and last turn are the main time getters

I agree and my brakes were REALLY bad.  I had to start braking 50m before others and my lack of experience meant I washed off way too much speed on most corners.  I am looking forward to getting out there, maybe even with 5th Gear or an instructor and learn a heap more.

John Boston is the man, best instructor and not a cocky jerk, think his is trackschool. Used to go to a lot of driver training things when I was younger and he was by far the best and mainly just a cool guy.

Did a sprint with the Maserati club at Sandown last weekend, best lap 1:19.09, theoretical best 1:18.48.

Those elusive 18s are getting closer, car has a bit of understeer still, putting some bigger springs in the back and then try again.

Set second fastest lap of the day, beat a few Ferraris, Porsches and a bunch of GTRs, fastest lap was set by a Mitsubishi GTO!!

Hi Gareth,

Yes and yes, water temp down almost 5 deg C, and front end grip through the fast corners has improved.

Dimitri, the lenses come with about 3cm of extra material all around, took me a number of hours cutting filing and sanding to make them fit nicely.

If anyone is interested here is a link to some photos from Sandown.

Did the P.I sprint last Sunday, disappointing to not see any other 240z/260z/280z/300z, there were a couple of 350z's there. I'm very happy thought to have done  my PB of 1.58.29, weather was perfect, full entry, 26 cars per group, 7 groups. awesome day.

Well done, break the 2's

I work on principle of count to 1,2,3 then hit the brake, it gets me into the corner that little bit deeper.

Oh. wait,,, , 620Z saw me doing that at Winton!!!

Woops, so sorry Porkers!!

Did the WRX sprint at PI today, set a p.b. 1:46.0, only did familiarisation and 2 runs due to prior commitments ( had to get home in time to see my daughters calisthenics concert) so I think a 45 is possible.

May have set the FTD, was 3 sec. clear of the next fastest car when I left.
