Riceburner Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Very cool, kinda looks like a Kameari valve cover and has a very similar design. Maybe it's a style from the 70's. Love it! Where abouts did you find it? Quote

Sirpent Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Welcome back Rev, Ben may have scored a single piece of unique kit, but somehow I think that 6 weeks of roaming around the U.S. must have unearthed some choice items also, so how many kilo's over weight were your bags and when do we see what's most probably now sitting hidden under your bed? luvemfast Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 thanks for that scoot... will be putting it up on ebay this week!! You're not selling that rocker cover are you Ben? You'll never find another like it. Quote
benny Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Thought i better post an update. Couple of weeks ago i decided to finish off the engine bay. First off i prepped and painted the valve-cover in a wrinkle red from VHT. Unprepped- Sanded & Prepsol- Wet Paint- After sitting for a few days i then baked it for an hour at 150 degrees- On the motor with catch can plumbed- Just waiting on last few bits so i can finish the bay. Quote
benny Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Now moving onto the body. Rolled it out and took some pics before i go any further. Next I decided to whip out the welder and finish all thats left. Firstly tackled the LH side just above the taillight as the PO did some dodgy repairs (just bog) Tapped out what i could and welded up the holes and crease- Also fixed a small rust spot on the top of the LH Guard- will take some more pics and throw them up!! luvemfast Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Looking good mate. Now you have a deadline, hoping you get it on the road ASAP. Quote
reverendzed Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Well done Benj, it will be finished in no time, you just need to get your old man over to give a hand. Quote
Agno Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 This project is rad. You did exactly what I want to do with my interior (POR15 and stuff) Quote
FuzzyDropbear Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Looking good Ben. I'm not usually a fan of the wrinkle paint, but that looks really good Maybe its the contrast to the black bay and clean engine parts? Keep up the good work. Quote
benny Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 yer I wasn't sure how it would come out considering its just paint not powder, but was very impressed!! Quote
