However I reckon you'd be better off with a 260, diff already there, sitffer body etc, plus cheaper to get into. Quote

I'm not big on protocol but basic manners really do show the caliber of a person and their understanding of 'community'. Lurch among others is one of the greatest contributors and sources of intellectual resource that this forum has not to mention going 'above and beyond' to help out many of us who would otherwise be left to our own 'novice' devices. FWIW - I think Waxhead was being a bit cheaky and obviously knew it would cause a bit of a stir. Maybe he was serious and to be honest if he wants to fork out 30K for the car. He can do what he likes, even if it means sticking a modern engine in it. To me, yes it would be a shame since not many cars this original and well looked after come up but at the end of the day if someone wants to buy it and do that. It's their choice. Of course the seller may agree with Lurch and may decide not to sell the car to somoene who won't look after her and keep her original. Lurch was also being a bit cheaky, but I think it the joke was lost in translation. I think if you only Lurk on the forum it can be hard to see all the good things Lurch does. He is very helpful and friendly in person. However on the forum he may come across as a bit short and somewhat rude - depending on how you take it. Eija I would like to welcome you to the forum and it is a shame you missed the introduction because it would obviously help us know more about you and your interest.
