  1. Looking good there. I wonder if its conceivable that maybe a few guys around the world came up with the same result and didn't tell every one. Its not a new engine and Im sure more than one porter has cut one of these heads into sections to see whats inside
  2. Impressive power. well done
  3. Yeah its me building his engine. It may be a year away Im building a few other engines at the moment so they are keeping me busy
  4. It will be interesting to see it. I will hopefully have caseys finished as well. you can have a race
  5. Im sure you will be able to drive it on the street. Im not sure that with 50mm carbs and a lightweight flywheel with that cam it will be that great for cruising. But each to there own. If that's what the customer wants then that's what they get
  6. 300hp at the wheels is about the limit of these gearboxes. Some people will get higher but thats the generally accepted limit
  7. Yeah your right. I dont realise this was a race engine I thought it was a road engine. Hard to drive an engine like that on the road. It will certainly not be scared to rev with that flywheel , cam and carbs.
  8. 600 thou is alot of lift to get that 360 hp potential. Its going to be hard getting the guides to last. 15.24mm lift is huge. What cam are you using
  9. Beautiful car. I would love to see this in the flesh.
  10. Its a hard job building engines for a living I tried it as well. Good luck in the future in what ever you do. If you have your advanced trade look into retraining as a teacher and teach shop. Its a great job
  11. Yeah your right, the rd28 sump is deeper it bolts on I used one when I was doing my conversion. You just have to cut the bottom off and weld a plate on. Not hard at all
  12. I love the rocker covers. I would love a set of them
  13. The rb30 is king for sure, i am using one in my skyline. rb26/30 I was just concerned about the block height and that's why I didn't suggest it
  14. but the rb25det puts out 250 at the engine with alot more torque. We have an rb25det std in an r33 drift car. it had aftermarket steaam pipe ebay exhaust manifold kando dynmaics turbo. front mount intercooler high flowed injectors, its making 437 hp at the wheels Hardly an expensive engine to build as anything that you bolt on to an rb20 will bolt onto an rb25 the only difference in price is the purchase of the engine in this case its more expensive to buy the rb20det and you dont get the big gearbox like you do with the rb25 engine Going on the calculator and giving the car 1100kg that works out roughly to be a flat 11 second 1/4 mile. I say roughly as there are man more factors than this. using the 287 hp gives using the same weight a 12.8 second quarter for the same money. I know which car I would rather be in http://www.asianautospares.com.au/index.cfm?Do=View.Product&ProductID=43 http://www.jdmenginedepot.com/jdm_engine_details/50/Nissan_RB25DET_Skyline_Swap
  15. The 25 bolts in place of a rb20 the rb20 has small ports that dont really flow that well in comparison. Its not just capacity you are picking up here but also alot more flow. i guess its like putting in a l24 or an l28 what would you fit.
  16. If you going for an rb then go for at least an rb25 the rb20 struggles to idle they are that gutless Fuel injection is more than just for emissions, remember they made carbs for emissions as well. The good thing about fuel injection is you can have it all. nice and economical off throttle and then the delivery when you hit the loud pedal. Sure you can get a carby engine to drive nice but your not going to get the same results you can get from efi, no way
  17. Hey I could walk to lost city as well, Every one is very close together down here huh
  18. Are you kidding. Rossi was screaming on the yamaha bike before he changed to ducati. It would seem that Rossi is not capable of hanging on to the Ducati while stoner was. Nothing to do with the electronics im sure they were there on the yamaha. I was sick when I heard abdout Marco, He was one of the entertaining riders out there and while he was robbed of his life we were also robbed of a new and exciting talent
  19. That gearbox will never work
  20. Nothing gay sounding about grown men walking around with vased up gloves.
  21. The theory is good the result is not so good. The issue is you were not porting for the right rpm. If you wanted to make peak power at 5500 then you should have held the engine at that rpm. This way the weight of the air/sand would be pushing on the right places. To low and the sand falls out of suspension and just ports the bottom of the port. You may want to look at grinding on the base circle of the cam to increase the lift as well. You need to use the flkapper discs. Using the hard discs is just rough and you will not a preicsion engine build like you are after
  22. I believe the neo 25 has smaller combustion chambers and so with the na 30 pistons will make a very nice street engine. I am using an rb26 head on mine with the 30 na pistons and it gives it 8.2 its ok because it a 30 but 9.0 or closer would be awesome

    Increasing Torque

There was some good indepth information in this thread its a shame it was raped to try and save face for a certain moderator.
  24. Yes they are better if your going to track race your car etc. Personally the amount of time people really track there car I dont see they are worth the hassle. Modern hydraulic lifters dont pump up like the old holden days
