240zoom Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 Guys Can I get some help. I am trying to find information on what are the correct badges to show on a jap S30 I have a S30 fairlady badge that has a jap and US flag on it but it doesn't ring true as being right. The car had the quarter panel "Z" in chrome on a black circle but no other badges. Can anyone point me to what the original and correct badges are? Quote

I will try taking a look in Brian Long's book tonight. What year is the Fairlady? I'm almost 100% positive that a US flag is not standard. Quote
NZeder Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Can anyone point me to what the original and correct badges are? Is the chassis number a S30 or S31? Looking good by the way. I have a few books from Japan that might help also - I will take a look in the weekend for you also. Quote

The car had the quarter panel "Z" in chrome on a black circle but no other badges. Can anyone point me to what the original and correct badges are? Depends on what sort of Fairlady Z it was. 2 liter fairlady Z's had Quarter vents: Round Z badges (same as the 240Z) side badge x 2 Side front fenders: Fairlady Z badge x 2 Front bonnet: Z badge x 1. Rear hatch: Fairlady Z badge x 1 and under it was a Nissan badge (in the same arrangement as the Datsun and 240Z badges on Aussie cars). Check this link for an example: http://press.nissan-global.com/COMMON/HERITAGE/database/en_detail.html?075 Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 If it was a Fairlady 240Z then the badges are different. They had Fairlady, without the Z. and 240Z badges. S30/S31 had the same badges I believe. Quote
HS30-H Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 For a 1974-on production 'Fairlady Z' model, emblems would be as follows. These didn't change until the 'NAPS' equipped 'Type E' Fairlady Z models were released, but if you had one of those you probably wouldn't want to keep the fussy OEM badges anyway: *Bonnet / Hood 'Z' emblem: 65810-E4100 ( superseded by 65810-N4400 ) *Front wing / Guard 'FairladyZ' script emblem: 63805-E4199 ( superseded by 90806-N4400 ) *Rear quarter vent 'Z' emblem: RH 76807-E8200 & LH 76808-E8200 *Tailgate 'FairladyZ' script emblem: 90806-E4125 ( superseded by 90806-N4400 ) *Tailgate 'Nissan' script emblem: 84814-H7401 ( superseded by 84814-R3065 ) See attached scan for positioning / rough photos: Hope that helps. Looking at the Dash it has the same type of Dash as the 260z so that is why I was looking for confirmation on the S30/S31 thing - as if it was a S31 then as Alan points out it could be a NAPS model which has a NAPS badge also. However it is not a NAPS version so just standard Fairlady Z badge's and Alan provided the info already Cheers Mike Quote
240zoom Posted October 25, 2009 Author Posted October 25, 2009 Well work, GFC, family, golf, travel etc... has taken it's toll however we are back on track with the project So far it's back on it's wheels! We have repainted all the suspension using a really cool paint called KBR coatings which is a brush on self levelling paint which gave us a nice finish. Drum brakes were completely brand new so didn't need much. All suspension has been sandblasted, painted, Struts staying the same with the old Kyoebi's (spelling?) ex Japan. All struts etc... with new camber adjustable bushings. All the suspension is stamped with a "Y" which somebody told me is factory race spec .. can anyone elaborate on whether this is true or not? Doors are back together, hood lining goes in this week. Motor/gearbox this week and dash/electricals being done too. I have spent the week polishing the gearbox and retaping the wiring looms which is top fun! Quote

bluerat Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Mate, Magic colour! like what's in the background of the bottom photo as well, is that the 1600 coupe race car? Is that the KBR coatings on the inside of the car as well or something different? Cheers Quote
