Hi everyone i got a new project the other day and it came with a standard one peice rear spoiler but this one was just bogged and glued into place really bad. What is the proper way to mount these spoilers?

Sikaflex is avalable at any good spare parts stores

Sikaflex is very strong so make sure you get it right the first time. (very hard to remove)

Exactly.

As an example, While it's fun I don't recommend it for sticking cats together.

Why not?? Couldn't think of a better use for cats than to use excess sikaflex on ;D

On mine I screwed a piece of very thin angle steel along the hatch and then screwed the back of the spoiler to the back of the angle steel.  I also screwed the front of the spoiler directly to the hatch and doubled up with sikaflex in both places.

Sulio can i ask what brand your rims are and the size and offset?

And where did you get them from? They are exactly whet i have been looking for

Yer I paid about the $1800 mark but the price did go up as that was about 3 years ago, last time I enquired they wanted $2500. Stevo thats a pretty good price. Was that for the 17's?

Anyhow the size is 8.5x17 (-6 I think) and 9.5x17 (-19 I think). Check in the wheels section as it has all details listed there.

Cheers,

Sulio

Yeah they were 17s but it was through someone I knew. I don't actually know if it was 'mates rates' or if they just offered them cheap. Through a Bridgestone at Enoggera in Brisbane.

My rear spoiler has a pair of aluminium flats cast into the fibreglass, across the base, one near each end, & is screw fixed - the underside of the hatch has a pair of large removable rubber grommets, & these provide access to the pair of self-tapping screws used to secure the spoiler in place.
