Ha Ha Ha Don't worry about them Lurch. Each to there own. We know they are nice cars. Besides a 2+2 would beat any 1600 on the track, not to mention looks. Let them live in their world and us in our cyber world.  8)

haha i always find that one funny, for me if i wanted a 2 seater i would have bought one. I just prefer the 2+2 thats all.

I dont have 2 seater envy.

LOL WHOS OZDAT?  :P

oh thats right they mostly drive those boxy looking mostly 4 door overated S boxes.

(was going to write something bit more insulting bu changed my mind  ;D)

yeah wouldnt worry about them.

2+2 advantages hmm

back seat "fat pizza" boys showed good use of them in a 260z 2+2  :P

drop the seat and u got a comfy double bed.  ::)

i can fit 4 sets of rims at the back ( on the way to drift/drags/whatever) and lot of other goodies on a long trip.try that in a 2 seater and still see through the back window.

i got both so dont care but as a daily 2+2 is better and ill fight for the rights of 2+2 Z.

The 2+2 has some advantages the wheel base is the main one that I can thing of - better for a race car I was once told. Come to think of it, I think the Zed's that do/did the salt-flats in the US for landspeed were 2+2 for this reason. You could tell them that a Zed 2+2 can fit real sized people in the back unlike the Rx7, Porsches etc of the same era. And if weight is their issue just put a L28ET for extra HP, or RB30DET or V8 something - how much power do you want.

Also show them pics of that 2+2 that showed up on here from Ireland (grey with 17" rims and ZG flares, lowered - looked the business that's for sure) so the Bus can look good.

I've been thinking of swapping to a 260 2+2 in the future as a 2 seater just isn't practical for me now I have a kid and planning for another in the future.

The BBQ on Dec 6th has highlighted that as I would like to bring the wife and daughter, but can't do both in the Z.

Yes I recall seeing a car like that, I think it was on a Japanese website - it was a Fairlady Z (not sure which version if it was the same body as the 240z aka S30 or the later 260z 2 seater body aka S31 as it was known in Japan) I will see if I can find out more about the dicky seat in the back of a 2 seater ;)

Well I could not find it last night - it might take me some time to find the pic again - I should have saved the image....never mind I know it can be done as I did see it - however it was for small children only or midgets.

Ha Ha Bluerat I would hate to tell you but my 2+2 did a 1.05 around Symmons plains only last year. Don't even bother trying to compare 1600's to Zeds. It's like comparing Mini's to Mercedes. You stick to your crappy model on your site and I will to mine. It's childish argument that no one will win.  :P

Yer craigs and lurches wagons is pretty fast  ;)

In all truth I have a funny feeling a 2+2 will be worth more than a std 260 one day as not as many people restore them and alot got rusty and trashed (i know I think I have wreaked about 6 of em)

True that as I know here in NZ many of 2+2 has donated their front end to 240z/260z 2 seater race cars over the years.

Oh dear, I think the point Bluerat was trying to make is that they're both great cars.

Bluerat's car isn't very well suited to Symmons Plains (the dragstrip) but he's easly winning the under 2L class in the tasmanian hillclimb championship and has been embarassing a lot of larger capacity cars including Z's.  I've been trying to get him to bring his car down to Baskerville (a track with corners) cause it would do similar times to what yours did there with less than 1/3 of the power.  He's also building a 240Z so he'll have the best of both worlds.

Sorry if I sound bitchy but Bluerat is one bloke that has a lot of knowledge that could assist members on this forum.  I know I've found his advice on car set-up very helpful.

Thanks to Dodo i've been off the air for a couple of weeks, I looks like I missed some action!!

Like Shane said ZZZ8, You completly missed the point....by about the length of the sweeper at Symmons. Your comment seems to be a big over reaction to a quick, throw away dig at your race track comment. I dont think I was the one being childish, This 'My team is better than your team' attitude will get us nowhere, It's all very silly, and that was my point, who cares what you drive, just as long as you drive it. Next time your down on your 'Tassie tour' I'll shout you a beer and we can have a talk about the differences between a 1600 and a Zed, As I'll have raced both by then, and will be in a good position to comment.

No worries Bluerat. We went down there on one of our trips and a good mate was in his 1600. His car was flying on some of your awesome roads down there. By all means join in on our next trip. The more the merrier I say no matter what the car. Hiring Symmons plains was a massive buz with the track to our selves. We will be definately doing that again. Cheers
