Administrators gav240z Posted March 30, 2016 Administrators Posted March 30, 2016 Very nice find. Whats the difference between the 260 and 240 ones apart from the light holes? The lower beaver / valance area shape is also different. I suspect the licence plate area is also different as the 260z's had a different housing for that. Basically everything looks different... Administrators gav240z Posted April 13, 2016 Administrators Posted April 13, 2016 In the picture above, they are North American spec tail lamps. Red on Red. I can get the rear tail light garnish in the US for around $100 USD for all 3 pieces, however in Japan they sell for significantly more and they are getting very hard to find here. So I'd say around $150-$200 would be a fair price if they are not damaged and the stainless trim is in good shape. That's without the license plate lamp. I think the last set I got from Ashley at Moorabbin Autospares was about $150 AU - no lamp. The lamp itself is expensive now, you can get a reproduction but it costs about $350 AU. OEM ones sell around $400 AU when they are available... Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted April 13, 2016 Administrators Posted April 13, 2016 Just 1 note about the Ashtray's in general the eBay listing mentions a 'vague melt'. Since I've got about 8 or 9 of these tray's now I can confirm they all have some kind of imperfection from their injection moulding process. I've seen a few with this 'vague melt' look inside the tray. So it's completely normal. I still think the asking price is insane however. Quote

GongZ Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Seen these also, I wonder what fitment is like.... I wonder how difficult it would be to remove the existing strips without damaging the trim too. I might hold off until someone in the US (or wherever) buys some and does a review on them. Quote

I might hold off until someone in the US (or wherever) buys some and does a review on them. That's the spirit let someone be the guinea pig! haha. Personally as dodgy as it sounds I'm looking to buy some 'chrome tape' and trimming it to fit over these on my door trims for my 72 240z. The trims are not perfect and are in ok shape and the tape wouldn't look all that different from the real plastic chrome (there's an oxymoron) in my opinion. https://www.google.com.au/?q=chrome+tape&gws_rd=ssl#safe=off&q=chrome+tape Quote
