Up for sale we have one Datsun 260z 2+2 hatch. It is off a 75 model, and has the rear heater/defogger. No lock.

 

It has rust, please see photos for details.

 

Just like the rust, the glass is also see-through. 

 

This is a one of a kind very rare item, it is very hard to find this quality of completely original classic rust in this day and age. A must have for the avid rust collector!

Looks like the victim of a whale tail spoiler that held moisture securely against the panel. Am I right?

Mine looked a lot like that, which is why it is now fibreglass

Yes, you're right on the money! 

I also have my suspicions that it was also used to cover up some rust when it was put on (this is a case of a young kid putting the least amount of money and the most amount of dodgey he could into it to make it look okay)  . Poor thing certainly hasn't been loved....

 

 

but I can fix that!

One pair of used exterior door handles no reserve in US...starting off at $US1

 

Has anyone noticed the new handles on eBay ? and some described as NOS but if you buy them you need to file or cut the opening where the handle fits in to make them fit...the rivets on these new handles which have the return springs on them protrude out making it impossible to slide the handles in the door without enlarging the openings first...bit of a bummer

I've never had that problem and I bought a set of new door handles not that long ago. Got them NOS from Nissan though.

Yes I got a pair of those and yes the rivets are way too long. Don't know why they haven't fixed that problem as everything else is fine. The good thing is when I complained they refunded me and I still have the handles. Maybe they will fit my 240K...

I just filed the opening large enough to fot the rivet through, look fine as you can't see the holes.

I'll have to do the same Dave, file away until I get them in there...maybe American Zeds have a larger opening to start with, I don't know but I did enquire with the dealer before buying mine and he said "I've sold many of these handles and never had any complaints"...no one is game to tell him I'll bet

 

I suggested to another dealer that his handles won't fit straight in the Aussie Zed door because of the protruding rivet heads and he just said "Thanks for the advice".....and he gleefully continues to sell worldwide

 

Then there is z connection, a US dealer, he has the correct handles with rivets short enough to fit without butchering your door but he doesn't mail internationally....You can't win can ya !

 

Another thing to watch on eBay is NOS or New badges (emblems)...they can have small bubbles in the chrome or other defects that will turn you off when you finally get them in your hot little hands...the only thing I can advise here is if the description photo is dark or shadowy, be wary...chrome needs full light coverage in the photo before you'll see how good it is, or not good

Yep, Brought some of these handles, Working Perfect and look even better Also had the trouble of the handle not fitting, But cocked one side i managed to sqeeze them in, just Rolled the edge a Tad with a shifter

I'd like to know what's "Turbo" about that engine...looks just like the old slogger in ex Skyline, nothing turbo about that I can assure you but an excellent engine all the same, at one stage I was thinking about fitting one in my 240 before fuel prices went through the roof...oh and cost of distributor modules

There are 2 options for fitting the longer cam belt to accommodate the taller 3 litre block and this one has been done the proper way with the block drilled and tapped to locate a second idler pulley up high. Given the cost of N1 oil pumps alone it would definitely be worth bidding on. Expect it to go for much more than currently listed.
