Hey,

I am still looking for a 260Z that is a manual 2+2 and has low or minium rust. I am perpared to pay up to 5k or more for a nice example. The car is needed in Sydney. Thanks

Do you want a 240z or a 260z 2 + 2 ? It is either one or the other. There was never a 2 + 2 240z. It is also very unlikely that you will get a 240 for the price you mention. You might get a 260 2 + 2 for that.

yeh 5k is not unpossible but it will end up costing you if you dont do your reaserch. the number one thing to look for is one with little rust, as its much easier to change parts over the to fix a molested body and a lot cheaper. as for the rust make sure you check the sills doglegs etc usualy molested cars have bog hanging over slightly and it wont be smooth. just for a example i paid $2650 for mine and i thort it was reasonabley strait and it was. the previous owners had cut the rust out and welded plates on etc and done a good job but as usual there was bog not much though. i dout you will find one bog free/rust free but make sure you thoughly check the car over for ripples or bumps in the body as its a good sign theres rust or bog there. and even if the car doesnt run and the bodys strait you will be better off in the end buying it then one full of bog and running fine also just to let you know im now nearly upto $6000 in total on my car and it has taken nearly 2years of replacing worn or broken parts but im extreemly happy with it now and am very glad i got mine and not a boged up one.

well good luck with the search and i hope you find what your after just be paitient

Howdy, i just posted a topic triple manifold and mentioned that a guy up in sebastopol which is in ballarat, victoria has an unregistered 260 2+2 4 $800 but i think that he would take less.

Would make a good project car but is missing the front and rear bars and the door trims.

Also it has a real dodgy sunroof.    Good luck with the mission anyways.

and its running a bodgy single carb, from what I saw.  I thought it was a two seater, bout the only redeeming feature of the car.

cheers bout time some one thought so lol as for the bodgy single 2barrel carby, you just replace it with a 350 holley or webber its relitivly easy to change and and performs preaty good ( not bad on fuel either) so if any one is stuck with this problem of a 2barrel carby let me know cause i can help

hey there, i posted this a while back,

http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,1877.0.html

i went to have a look at it in brisbane, i was very close to purchasing this to replace the rusty body in my 74 z, the only reason I didn't is that I didn't have the money lying around at the time.

Needs only a few pieces here and there like a windshield glass i think? had a heap of parts sitting in it and it started up fine. the guys says it is rust free, i asked him and he said it was all cut out and patches welded in, not bogged up. It was advertised at $4000 to start with, then $3500 then when I went he was asking $2500 and he might even be negotiable.

Rusty parts cars come up regulay and are usually cheap however rust free ones don't come up that often. i think if you negotiate you might be able to get this landed in sydney for $3000-$3500

all that said it might not be for sale anymore :S

Its still for sale but i think that he wants more than 5 to 7k for it and its a nice car so i can blame him but, I really want my Z to be blue and if not blue then atleast in Sydney so im still looking.

Hi, I have a 1975 260z 2+2 with very minimal rust and a very straight body. It has a reconditioned 280z (carburetted) engine in it with a 5 speed manual. Only thius week did i decide to sell it for 5k. I actually bought it from the ACT which meant it had to be inspected to be registered meaning replacment of any cracked rubbers etc. The only thing is im in Tassie but could arrange to drop it at the transport station. My phone number is 0409401570

Cheers
