:( very sad and  terrible to hear,

I was fortunate enough to meet him once, he was truly passionate about his Z's and a genius in his car engineering and designs innovations to get the best from his, and other people's Z's and other Datsun's out on the race track. It is a very sad loss for the Z, Datsun and motorsport community.

My condolences to his family and friends at this very difficult time.

Very sad news.

My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

I never really got to meet Peter, but he was a legend of the Zed and racing communities and he will be sorely missed by all.

Very sad day indeed. Motorsport is dangerous, but no one should lose their lives participating in it.

R.I.P. Peter :(

Ah, Pete, RIP bud,

We had a few good clean close dices together at PI,

I remember well the Saturday you came over to me, asking for help to get your gearbox back in shape, I was able to sort you out, and we were back on the track together, on the Sunday.

You were seen dancing a jig of joy at an Austalian Hillclimb champs, when you nailed it for a new record,

Keep on dancing Pete!

We will miss you.

What can I say, never met the bloke but his reputation by itself is enough to make this a terribly sad situation. Why are the good ones always taken first? Oh dear  :(

I was told about this by a fellow Zeder last Friday and refused to believe it thinking I was having my leg pulled big time but sadly a google search when I got home confirmed it.

Tom and I met him once at the 2007 PI Historics where we had Toms car double entered in regularity, about halfway through the meeting I had a problem with the passenger side lower control ball joint and after inspecting it with a mechanic friend I announced to Tom that it was unsafe and our event was over, our friend who knows his way around historic racing extremely well said don't be silly there's lots of Zeds here surely someone will be able to help why not put a call out over the PA, actually, ask for Peter Hall.

We did that and in no time at all Peter entered our garage and introduced himself we explained our predicament and Peter said I think I've got one of those let's have a look in the trailer, Peter opened the back of his trailer and put his hand straight on a brand new spare he had, our friend fitted it up immediately and Tom made it out on track just in time for his next event, ironically that was only possible because the program had been delayed due to a start line accident.

Until doing my google search I had no idea that Peter had received an OAM for services to motor sport but from the selfless way he assisted us I'm not surprised, we are richer for having met him and in part from that meeting make sure we offer assistance to fellow Zeders where we can.

A tragic loss not good news at all.

Sincere condolences to Peters family and friends.
