ZLA70 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Hi Guys, I have recently (last Thursday) purchased a 1973 240z. I have loved these cars for a long time but always though it would be a project I would do later on in life. I have owned new cars all my life, my last was a heavily moded FG XR6T ute which made 628rwhp. Turbos are my passion and cars a my life! I realised how difficult it is to find one in good condition at a decent price and after monitoring all car sale sites for the last 12 months I decided it was now or never. I found my Z on carsales and decided it was in good enough condition to make an offer...... Here are a few pic's. So far the only thing different is no towbar and rear bar. I look forward to getting involved and learning a whole lot about these amazing cars. Quote

ZLA70 Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Thanks, I'm in the middle of ripping out my interior... Recaro Seats are going in, dash is being redone and while I'm at it the wiring loom needs to be re wired .. It's been hacked at over the years and in need of some urgent attention. Quote
cracker Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Welcome... I just saw the updated photos from a week ago, love the look so far! Also looks like you've started with a very straight car, a very wise move! What sort of coilovers did you go with and where did you source the front bar? (I've been toying with the idea of both haha) Good luck with the interior, mainly the wiring.. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted April 1, 2014 Administrators Posted April 1, 2014 Looking good, I kinda liked the hot wire wheels on it before with the white writing on the tyres. As for engine choice ask the members here who have had a proper stroker built what they think? I like turbo's also but I think a well sorted stroker offers the original motor feel, a wild noise and massive amount of low down torque. Quote
Mike260LW Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Welcome from another Brisbane based Zeder! It's all looking good and the proposed restomod sounds great. I have no issues with the hybrid engine swaps some have suggested but don't underestimate the humble L6 donk and they're proper! I'll look forward to watching the project evolve and hopefully we'll cross paths at some time! Quote
charleszed Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I would love a RB26... That's always been the plan but I'm not sure not that I've seen the stoker kits.. Decisions decisions!! If you decide Rb 26 i am on the home stretch and am happy to help with any questions. Quote
