Hi guys,
I'm looking for an L28 to rebuild, as complete as possible.
Victoria preferred, but happy to travel as far as Sydney or Adelaide. What's out there?
Cheers, Mike
FOUND ONE, thanks to one of the forum members. Feel free to delete moderators.
Seeing your new Weber set up at the BBQ last year inspired me to do the same myself and I'm wrapped too. As you said, starts effortlessly without a choke and sounds great!
I've had this reproduction console since Christmas 2017 (how good is a good misso) but it took some time to track down an ashtray, fog light blank and shifter boot.
Very pleased with the final result, now just trying to decide what to do about a radio, I'd love an original or one of those classic looking new units.
Was this a precision kit? It looks a little more elaborate actually. I did one on mine and found it to be pretty good, usual issue of door seals being a little too chunky and causing some slight closing issues but nothing major.

Hey guys,
I've got an unused new can of each of these colours from Autobarn (Concept Paints) for anyone who can use them, maybe handy for engine bay touch ups ect.
On the third attempt I did get the right colour... 305 - so much conflicting information on other sites.
I'm in Melbourne and could probably also post them.
Thanks Dave, I remember reading this in your build thread some time ago. Perhaps I'll track him down rather than attempting it myself.
Did he do it with the glass in place or removed?
Fitted the new passenger side door belt, only about 9 months after the driver's side..
Reused the original metal belt that holds the rubber in place and original staples, bit of metal polish on the chrome while it was apart too. Happy days.
I've got a glass polishing kit to try out next, anyone attempted it?
Replaced the heater control and fast idle vacuum lines yesterday and did an oil change this afternoon, finally settled into the new house enough to sneak some Datsun time in.
I might fit my Xenon front spoiler next, then send it off for paint.
Body colour or black though? I'm leaning towards body colour and keeping the bumper chrome.
Mines a very tired looking Bridgestone 195 on a factory alloy wheel. That explains why the wheel cover sits a bit high. I was given the 4 original alloys with centre caps when I bought the car too.
Thanks Rob, the PO had a respray done and so have I (insurance claim). This is the original colour but it might be slightly off if it was colour matched and not mixed up to the original paint code. To be honest I never thought to ask!
