  1. I just handed in NSW 260ZED today so those are up for grabs if anyone wants them. I couldn't keep them as a Vic resident.
  2. Finally fixed my clunky diff issue that came about after installing new moustache bar bushes. New front mount only partially fixed it, added a few millimetres of shims between the mount and diff today and it now clears the sway bar under heavy deceleration
  3. Changed out the front diff mount today. I quickly realised the long 14mm nuts and bolts that hold the mount to the diff were totally rusted, seized and inaccessible to a socket. Sabersaw to the rescue, cut out the centre of the old mount allowing access to the nuts with a rattle gun. Soaked the nuts in WD40 and managed to install the new mount with a couple of spanners and minimal cursing.
  4. Thanks guys, I ended up ordering from eBay US and carefully picking one that would arrive quickly. $160 and 4 days later it has arrived, very happy. Now to install it!
  5. Just found your build this week Jeff and I've caught up on all the episodes. Great work and inspiring dedication! I'll be keeping up with the progress
  6. Took the opportunity while a lot of panels were off to run new speaker wiring, install a set of Polk Audio 4" coaxials, a new Pioneer head unit and a neat little 4x45w rms Alpine amplifier tucked up under the passenger footwell. I don't think I'll use it a whole lot but it's better than what the PO had installed.
  7. They say 1 month and $190, I'm thinking US eBay might be a slightly better choice.
  8. Hi guys, I've just replaced the moustache mounts on my 260z (RWC item) and they've really highlighted how bad the front diff isolator mount is. The diff now sits up nice and high at the back and droops down at the front, causing the tailshaft to hit the sway bar under deceleration. The part number is 55415-N4301, Nissan have none in the country and eBay only shows them overseas. Anyone know where I can find one in the country, or can I do a temporary shim job to the mount I have? Cheers, Mike
  9. Thanks guys, I got lucky on eBay today and found the fog lamp blank and fuel light blank, those are on the way from the US now. Cheers Aj_, the ashtray and console will be the last bits I buy. I've seen plenty of ashtrays on eBay but a local one would be great - PM me if you're willing to part with it for the right amount of cash.
  10. Had a new windscreen fitted by an absolute legend today using a precision seal kit I ordered. Only the hatch rubbers remain original now but I might need a respray done on the hatch before fitting them. The old seal has kind of been painted in..
  11. I'll pop down and introduce myself, looks good!
  12. Good idea, that might be the only way to get some of the small parts. My front fixing bracket was left attached to the tunnel thankfully!
  13. Thanks guys, I'll go with a new one. I'm getting my head around all the cut outs now. A couple of things I can see being tricky are the sliding ashtray (I don't have one to fill the hole) and two of the button blanks (small middle square fuel one and the largest lower right one). Google image for reference. Anyone had success finding any of these 3 parts?
  14. Hi guys, So the 1977 2 seat 260z I have has a custom centre console, the previous owner told me the original one was falling apart when he bought it 13 years ago, fair enough. It's a pretty neat console but I'd really like to replace it with an original or original replica. The trouble is I'm not sure where to buy one and there appears to be some variations. Not to mention the ones I've seen available have a couple of holes that I can't even figure out. Here's a run down of what my console currently has: Manual Choke Choke indicator light Hazard switch Rear demister Rear demister indicator light After market single dim radio Can anyone provide a photo of how these items are positioned in the original console? Has anyone bought a console from overseas with any success? Cheers! Mike
  15. Cheers Peter, That's a good idea, I'll check it out. You should have seen the mess the vac lines were in when I started. The check valve was backwards and the vacuum reservoir was only before the fast idle actuator (vacuum to the heater core bits was direct from the manifold).
  16. Here are a couple of photos of the old girl. Was this blue not a very common colour, I haven't seen many others?
  17. No problem, I'll store it till then for you mate. Better it goes to someone who will use it than the tip!
  18. Jute, that's it I couldn't remember the name. Giving away Gav
  19. Hey guys, I've seen some interest previously in original sound deadening and I've just ripped all mine out. It's in relatively good condition, no rips or anything. All bits apart from the boot which wasn't salvageable.
  20. Hi PB, Appreciate the offer! Here are the two I have, do they look similar? Cheers, Mike
  21. Cheers guys! My initials are actually MLW believe it or not..
  22. If Nathan Fillion wasn't such a legend I might actually be offended!
  23. Thanks Zed74, all good, ordered one today from Nissan, $114 and will be in tomorrow so I can't fault the service
  24. I think it might be 32869-E8700 BOOT-OIL SEAL
  25. Hey Lurch, I just searched that part and it's the smaller round boot that fits over the gearbox. I'm actually after the larger rectangular one that seals the tunnel to the shifter. Reckon they still keep this one too?
