  4. Hey Gav, re the green Z , Have to say when I got my 260 wasn't my first pick of colour . Not even a factory green , but, its really grown on me and I think the car looks amazing in it!
  5. I did get a quote from above peeps about a year ago and was going to be around $400? I did get some 260z wheel caps done from a place in the shire for $50 a piece and they did a pretty good job ! Said they could do the tailight surrounds for around $180 ballpark (depending on amount of prep work , sanding etc)
  6. Hey James , I'll grab the choke hazard defogger lights if still available . If the 260 badges falls through i'll grab them as well Thanks , Will
  7. Hey Gav , I have a a new drivers side card and a kind of ok set if you want borrow to see if trimmers could do something here !. I'm pretty keen to get a complete set in as new condition . thanks, Will
  8. Maybe Mazda will beat Nissan at its home game?
  9. Gav , being a 70's kid , the Z was always the car that I thought was the epitome of cool ! Question is, how many do you need? Have my 260 ,ex Dave (Rev Zed's) green car , love it ! 2 seater , hmmm, not , family friendly , so trying to convince the other half that a good 2+2 would be a good daily , child friendly option ! Not the right forum area, but do you or any of the more experienced Z owners think that you could have a Z as a roughly 10 -15 km per day as a daily ? As a side note , have had Mini's (never any problems) Triumph dolomite ( probably not best car for maintenance as a teenager) , EJ Holden Premier , (loved it till caught on fire at servo in Woolloomooloo) and VW type 3 Wagon (loved that car ,till engine fell out out on the Harbour Bridge) We just leased a BMW 1 series for business ( partners dream car ) so selling the Mazda CX7 and 2 ( no money spent during warranty period , great cars , but time to go . What do you guys think re a 260 2+2 as a limited daily drive ?
  10. Great footage , you guys should be proud! Love the fact that you can drag your slicks in the trailer! . Colour looks great, ( adopted Rev's Green 260, not original green, but really suits the car ) So cool that you can kick that big butt Porsche ass ("OMG , it looks like one of those rap guys girlfriend!) and drive home looking like its straight from the factory ! Well done , credit to your craft! If I ever get the cajones to get on a track , good to know there is so much knowledge and advice on the forum .
  11. Hey Gav , think your probably right , would be a good deal for OS buyer . Quite amazing the prices that the 240's are achieving ! Not the best example, but interesting ,in that my fathers old concours winner TR6 is for sale at $25k and he wouldn't expect to get more than mid 20's for his pretty close to concours winning Stag ( ok , here come the Triumph jokes) But ,as his was a generation that grew up with English , Italian , German sports cars ,with a bit of disdain for the Japanese product its interesting that the Z is finally getting a bit of cred, re being a collectable classic. Seems that the playing field is being levelled, and, as close to possible original Z's and thoughtful modified examples will hopefully continue to be appreciated .
  12. According to the CTS site, it's sold! Wonder if they got the asking price, $72,995 ? If so, someone made a big profit .
  13. I would also be curious to see a console pic from an original 75 260 2 seater as I'm missing a few switches and warning lights . Seems like there were a few different variations from market to market ( as in most models ) . Any help would be greatly appreciated , thanks ', Will
  14. Hey Gav , wondering if you received those pics I sent of the early 260 cards I bought from the States . Do you think they matched up to your ones ? Is the chrome? Trim that chrome tape or is it actually applied as the original was ? Thanks, Will
  15. I'll buy 2 shares ,$50 plus a same donation to the site if it happens !
  16. The Z in Lithgow is sold . Spoke to the owners wife and apparently the car accidentally was posted on web before the magazine and was sold before the hard copy version had hit the shelves! Reckon it was sold within a few days.
  17. Hey Gav, Looking for early set for 75 260 . Passenger side to start , would take a set then just sell the drivers one I have? Are the ones from your contact originals . The chrome pinstripe looks pretty authentic . Repro ones I have seen have the chrome adhesive pinstripe which is ok but you can tell from the ends that they are not same as the originals ! Thanks , Will
  18. Gav, I'd be interested if you could get another set , thanks, Will
  19. Hey Gav, that is a bargain!. Are they the same as the JDM Parts ones . They were doing repro sets for around $1000 US a while back . I got a new drivers side panel for my 75 260 on ebay so looking for a passenger side one now . Had a lead on one from Canada for $800US plus a ridiculous amount for postage, ouch! So, your set is a steal . Do you think you can find early 260 ones? , Will
  20. Gav , surely someone could , but , after following the thread on hybrid z where all thought it was close to seeing Repro's made ,must be either, more difficult or , unreasonably financial to fabricate . Guess that's why they are commanding such prices . Funny market for the Z , if it was parts for English 70's auto's , parts are pretty much still being made , easy to access , maybe in time someone will see a global market emerging for Japanese classic cars ( not excluding Black dragon ,MSA , etc ) but taking it to the next level , Will
  21. Hey Dave , I'm looking for original door cards for the green 260 . Contact me and if you want my cards maybe we can work something out , Cheers, Will
  22. Hey Gav , headlight trims , white walls and original wheels all tick the boxes for me on the 260. Had the centre caps rechromed and painted for $100 per cap ,which sounds a lot but , hey try and find nos ones ! Couple of other pics of Revs last 260 on the way to Warwick for NDN 15 . Had to do the "big"backdrop for pics!
  23. Nathan, I'd still be up for a set . 75 2 seater . Also, radiator support for 75 260Z on is different from the 240 and 74 260 (I think?). Having just the stock valance and not a spoiler , the standard support hangs a lot lower than the 240 one , kind of ugly from the front compared to the earlier models . Do you know if they are interchangeable and if so I'd also be keen on one of the as well! thanks, Will
  24. For all intensive purposes, that is amazing. Craft and art ,and not a beard or cold drip coffee in sight!
  25. Hey Gav, As owners of cars which we love from mechanical (serviceable by home monkeys) with the added bonus of timeless style ,interior and exterior , how are we going to future proof these iconic cars. drove the Z for major kms to Warwick for the Easter meet ,and back, and didn't miss a beat! One day fossil fuels will be a thing of the past ,but, hope we can keep these classics still on the road . Being behind the the front of the car for such an amazing drive makes us understand why we are so nuts about these vehicles! Electric ,hydrogen engines with soundtracks?
