Hey Gavin ,good luck mate , they are had to get . Even the set on JDM parts have now sold and he was asking $1985 US for them ! Have to say though ,they do look great on the Z.

Go the green! I purchased Rev's green Z and although was not my original choice of colour , I think it really suits the car. Its a BMW Boston green , changes in different lighting situations ,which is part of the attraction . Have , and still are , changing cosmetic aspects of the car ,but are really happy with the colour. Plus , she's pretty amazing to drive! Here (hopefully) are some pics as to how its looking, Will

George, will definitely be interesting to see how the parts go. Shop thought parts will be ready this Friday? Personally was in no rush and thought that timescale was a big opportunistic but if they can deliver and to a satisfactory level , could be good for all those on the site wanting to re chrome the ABS parts. George, I think those parts look pretty good and not a bad price when you consider the prices of individual parts that have been re plated and are for sale on eBay! Relatively small investment considering how much they will enhance your restoration . If you find your happy with the end result ,I will be sending some parts there myself. Also,I have found a place in Sydney that will re chrome the plastic parts on the Z's and have my wheel centre caps and 260 taillight bezels there ($30 per cap and $80 per bezel, again pretty reasonable considering how much ones on eBay are) so if they come back to a suitable standard ,could be of interest to others here!

Wanting to replace my steering wheel with a 240Z wheel that I have restored . Wondering if anyone has a 240 horn mechanism as my 260 came with an aftermarket wheel and boss . Just thought I would check here before I try O/S Thanks, Will

Hey Gav, if you are going to buy a set from ebay etc , from my limited amateur experience just check them for a slight bend towards the rear qtr window ( which I think they should have for the 240 and 260 2 seater? ) think some replacements don't actually follow the origanal lines. Could be wrong , but good news is they are stainless and have sanded mine from 400 to 1600 and then buffed and polished and look pretty good . Have a spare set if you need , cheers Will

They appear to be quite hard to find . Jdm datsun parts have NOS ones for US$250 , I have a set that are ok , orange / yellow resin around 'z' is not great and would like any advice as to wether they can be fixed? Or , just cough up and secure what seems to be a rare original set !

Hey Adam , think they might have been the covers I bought ! Have been (slowly) takingMy 260 back to factory ,as close as possible , and went to the the body shop today to see the final touch ups (which included mounting the chrome covers ) and have to say they look fantastic . Just add that little bit of style to what is already a classic shape . Haven't posted any pics of the car yet as it has been seen on the site before and what I have been doing is purely cosmetic but hopefully will be blue slipped and registered by end of the week and will put up some pics then. There was a thread on HybridZ forum that looked encouraging re someone manufacturing new versions of the covers but has gone a bit cold . Might still be worth checking it out . Hope you have success in finding some as they do look pretty damn smart !

Nathan , As you know from my message to you I would much prefer to get a set of replacement rails from you. .Having just found out the condition of mine and preferring to replace rather than patch ,would be great if you could help us 260 owners . I have seen that you can get ones from the US (Baddog) and Canada (Zedd Findings ) but I would be happier to give you the business . So close to getting my one finished hopefully you can get these up and running . Cheers, Will
