  1. So long as you satisfied, that is what really matters - and yes we all have a budget, some are just bigger than others
  2. That is a great feeling
  3. Looks like the day had something for everybody.
  4. Agree 100% so long as the manufacturer and supplier are credible and the wheels have actually been tested to that standard. Yes I am overly cautious but I have seen auto parts that are sold as having met a standard or presented as a genuine product, fail, and when investigated properly turn out to fakes and not even close to the claimed standard. If you have confidence in the supplier and that they will back the product if something goes wrong then that risk is reduced. Did you have any particular rims in mind ?
  5. Some are good, some not so good. Have go at Google Images - "alloy wheel failures" to see what can wrong, scary stuff. I wouldn't do it, but that is just my 2 cents. Cheers PB
  6. Maybe, maybe not. You will never know. Just look at this - you had a price you wanted and you got that price - Happy Days
  7. + 1, but it is your car, so do what you really want
  8. Car park boom gates and drive throughs are a little "challenging"
  9. Hi Rudolf I am enjoying watching your build, that rust in the front is very familiar I have a similar photo Cheers PB
  10. Looks good , when do you reckon it will be running ? Should sound great and go even better.
  11. Gidday Skipz Your build is looking great some fantastic work being done. The ISIS system has got my attention I will be very keen to see how it works out for you. Keep the updates coming. Cheers PB
  12. Me - Undecided, will have only just got back from the annual Bathurst V8 boys weekend. May need to have some family time.
  13. Congratulations always nice to see someone get the car they had always wanted. Hope it works out well, will we see you on June 15th ?
  14. Great advice, and if possible ask in writing and get a written response. But for NSW a copy of the old rego papers that match the cars current confiquration + signed bill of sale will go a long way. I hope to be going through this myself later this year
  15. Yes North of Melbourne. FWIW whilst I live in the northern suburbs I work in the "Shire"
  16. Hi George I have always said people should do their car their way, but with such early numbered car I believe originality is the way to go. Just my two cents worth. Cheers PB PS if you ever need a hand or want to borrow stuff just sing out, us Northerners need to stick together
  17. Must confess not a movie I have ever watched, but that youtube scene certainly holds your attention
  18. I only got one right, but at least it was the Z
  19. So true, and as Gordon Gecko said "Money is what you have in case you don't die today" Re the budget, have to agree blow outs happen, but the basic numbers seem well thought out - although the body number not so confident. Regardless of that your approach is way ahead of the more common "about $xxxxx" we here all to often. Really looking forward to watching your progress. Cheers PB
  20. Unfortunately not , That is not to say that few private imports didn't come in. The first officially imported Twin Cam Celica that we did was the ST162 which in SX trim came equipped with 3S-GE engine, lower grades ran the single cam 3S-FE
  21. You are correct we got plenty of R powered cars. I probably should have been a little more specific. It is the RG that delivered the power. The G meaning twincam. Cheers PB
  22. I suspect that if we had the RG equipped cars rather than the underpowered T equipped ones things may be different. But as previously mentioned there are many factors that impact value.
  23. Gidday Adam Try this from Jaycar, I have used it before and was happy with the results. http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=NA1012 Cheers Peter
  24. Welcome Dave Just purchased a 2+2 well - done. Look forward to seeing photo's. Can't offer any advice on RWC's in Melb but I am sure someone else can. What sort of plans do you have, or is it too early for that. Cheers PB
  25. All are likely scenarios. As the auction ended with a sale, even if a suspect one, won't the seller get hit with all end value fees from evilbay ?
