Hi Jake No Complaints as yet .Have had a couple of people down south with high horsepower z's doing quite a few laps, and are more than happy with the original design. Still making the earlier type,had a couple of people express interest in a heavy type ,bigger gussets, tube and rod ends, so here it is .Could be attractive to the rally fraternity. Cheers David

Hi All I have updated the design of the control arms.Now using 3/4" rod ends and some larger tube ( see the pictures for better description), the rod ends and new sections of tube are rated higher in bending. I have added some rubber boots on the outer rod ends to give a bit more protection from the elements.The gussets are made from CrMo RHS.. All parts are CrMo exept the 5mm thrust washers where the inner bushing fits.The rod end have bushings so the 16mm spindle pin(bolt) fits.

I have a pair of NEW Chromemoly control arms for 240z/260z. They have a couple of marks in the powder coat and a couple of area's are cloudy( used a rag on the arms that i just had thinners on, smart like a rock!!).Anyway $720 plus postage. Cheers Dave

Rally cars are a different bag of cats,the suspension is under severe stress , for instance , you have near or fully compressed suspension and at the same time slamming into a washout or rut or hole .So all the the suspension and tyre is under full compression and now a rigid structure .The rod end is now under the pump. The best option is to machine out the front cross member and use a 20mm /3/4 inch bolt and a corresponding larger rod end .If your happy to alter the front cross member i can incorporate a larger rod end.

Hi All the limiting factor on the front arms is the 14mm bolt on the inboard end. I'm using 16mm x 1.5 fine thread rod end at the moment, which is bushed down to fit the bolt this rod end is rated up to 10.6 Kn radial load.I could use a bigger rod end (3/4) and bush it down to fit the 14mm bolt, but you still have a 14mm bolt in the cross member, the bolt is in double shear though.If the hole in the cross member is enlarged for a bigger bolt ........

Rear lower arms are the same size but some have heavier construction than others duty ,i presume the heavy duty ones are off the 2+2.I found this out when making the Chromemoly ones. I had two pairs under the bench, and noticed two types of construction.

my boat trailer ,with range rover rear axle coils and shocks.To take the roads up north,nothing worse than a broken hull or trailer.Towed it to Weipa and beyond a couple of years ago,did some of the tele track to get to the good spots.Just came back from the NT ,via Borroloola to Doomadgee and down to Lawn hill gorge.Its a bit heavy and awkward to launch, thats the price to pay for a trouble free run.

He a bloody funny guy ,met him on the round Australia rally in 1995,i remember filling our car up and servicing it near the holden team at Wharburton road house. Dunkerton ,Bruce Garland and i think Peter Lockhart and a few others were standing around watching their crew service their cars and swapping jokes,i was on our car pissing myself laughing trying to get some work done. After a while i went over for a yarn and he signed my road book.He's a nice bloke.

Hi All i have a set of front adjustable control arms,these will give you approx 1.5-3.5 degrees of negative camber. The swaybar mounting hole has not been altered, so as you push the bottom of the strut out the swaybar drop link will be at a more acute angle ,also the steering arm will need adjusting out as well.If a replacement set of front control arms are sent i can take a bit off the price. Hi Jason/600z Jason do you have any trashed 6 speed gearbox's i can play with?thinking of doing the bell housing thing. The adjuster is machined from solid 4130 (chrome moly),the female end of the adjuster is L/H thread and the male end is R/H.The insert in the control arm is also 4130 ,the spacers that go either side of the rose joint are mild steel,they are spacers after all.This set will give you between 1.5 to 3.5 degrees camber approx. Hi I bought 280zx cv shafts to fit into my 240z ,i was told "just bolts straight in mate" the CV shafts i have,have 6 bolts in three pairs at the wheel end , you will need the matching companion flange to bolt the CV too.The diff end of the shaft is a push in item retained by a snap ring.The drivers side was correct length .BUT the passenger side WOULD NOT FIT as the diff is offset 25mm, by design or accident i'm not sure.I manufactured my own splined companion flange .My advice is measure the CV shaft and companion flange first before you buy.Their may be different types of shaft, but this is my experience.
