  1. Well, Mick has well and truly started on the rust repairs to the body at the Murray Bridge Centre of Excellence. The areas needing love are both doglegs, hatch, new right door skin (rare spares), lower part of both fenders, both floor pans and chassis rails (rare spares) and finally new roof skin (Dale). Once this is done, the car will come home for acrylic respray (unless I go with 2-pac).
  2. Tai, check these out. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/castle-hill/engine-engine-parts-transmission/dellorto-carburetors/1020605601 Triple 45mm Dellortos for less than $500 with ram tubes and linkages.
  3. You were running the sock filters, Owen. What made you switch? Peter told me once the mesh filterss are restrictive. Did I misunderstand you Peter?
  4. Yeah, i doubt it's for sale. Next time I see him, I will ask him. He lives around the corner from me.
  5. I know the owner. Michael is his name. He is not an onliner, but loves his zeds and 4wds.
  6. This sounds like a great thing! Make sure to take plenty of video footage.
  7. This will be a killer engine. The way it should have been all along. Don't worry Owen, it's in good hands now!
  8. What a beautiful zed. Well done
  9. Of course I can, I just don't want video evidence of tom foolery on public roads.....
  10. Here is a clip of some easy driving to give some idea of sound and drivability. No drone at all with the 2.5 inch magnaflow system Peter built for it. Unfortunately can't give it full throttle on public roads and post. Will do that when I get it onto the track one day.
  11. Cheers nizm0zed, It's a great car to drive. It's very drivable and pulls smoothly from 2000rpm. Peter says if I change the cam to a 76 degree it will hit 165rwkw even with the 44mm carbs, but will not be as responsive below 4000rpm. Since it's a street car, the way it is now is great. Just need an LSD and brake upgrade I will take some in-car footage of some driving on the road and post it.
  12. First chance to test the new PMC engine on the chassis dyno at the SA BBQ-Dyno day today. Some footage: Dyno chart: 155 rwkw. Peter says there is a 25-26% drivetrain loss, which means it was spot on with flywheel horsepower produced on the engine dyno. Next is some TLC on the body with sunroof removal and respray !

Thanks Paul for organizing such a great day. It was a great turnout and the dyno concept was fantastic. Cheers,
  14. Can you post some pics please? Also, what condition is it in? Do you know Km's of donor car? Is this a direct bolt into the S30 with the R200 mustache bar, or do additional parts need to be bought? I don't know of any speedo pinions that would suit this ratio. Is there anyway to get speedo accurate? Apologies for all these questions, but this info will help sell the diff. Cheers,
  15. You can listen to the radio without the antenna these days if you get a headunit with bluetooth and use a smart phone with Tune in radio.
  16. Am I losing it, or does this look like A 280zx 2-seater: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/datsun-280zx-1979-14760409?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=5&eapi=2&__N=1246%201252%201247%201282%204294966615%201216&num=15&silo=Stock&sort=default
  17. I have met Kevin and you WILL get the jets !!!
  18. I don't mind them.
  19. http://www.silverminemotors.com/Stage-4-Rear-Big-Brake-Kit-Stage-4-Rear-Big-Brake-Kit.htm The silvermine stage 4 rear kit is supposed to be great. If you can cope with a Ford part on your car, you get a massive rear disk setup with the handbrake working. I think the wilwoods are still without the easy handbrake option.

Both those days are good with me. Re dyno, how many cars do you need to make it worthwhile?

    Count me in.
  23. The Peter and Les combo team do suspension work also.
  24. You need toe in. This will help straight line stability as well as cornering. 2 to 5 mm is factory recommendation. Also, are you willing to trim your front spoiler and utilise the adjustable caster rods?
  25. Seek and you shall find !! I have found a great 2-seater roof in God's Country (Ballarat)...... Thanks Dale! Greg and Johnny, no need for the 2+2 roof, but thanks very much for the kind offer. Captain Mick will be waving his magic wand with this one.
