I have used it as a daily in the last 12 months and now regretting putting it to the graveyard of parts. Plus I am way to slow at doing up my fairlady 280zed and at this rate can not keep on having to pay for three car licences! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I drive the 280xz in almost daily as, while it was purchased as my parts carts for my fairlady zed, it has evolved into become my daily drive. The car look as rough as guts could be, even given it a few cans of $1.99 supercheap paint to hide the rusty bits. The engine, while i have done embarrassing little attention to it, is as strong as ever was. ( Just drove it to kalbarri 350km return trip two weekends in a row as old man is building a shed). It starts so easy each morning and runs flawlessly it makes me remember why i love the l28 engine. While it is a very reliable car, it is begging for a good service, as it was my parts car i spent no money in maintenance and it is starting to get a bit sluggish, but to be fair i have not even pulled out the spark plugs. What i can guarantee is that it leaks absolutely no oil, Looses no oil. It uses no coolant, and in trips to kalbarri the engine never got above warm. for the last 6 months it has been my daily drive. The little girl is starting to blow a concerning bit of white smoke on start up in the mornings, however this disappears quickly and have put it down to more than it needing a service more than anything. And when it kalbarri last weekend, lent it to my mom to nick down the shops, she not used to driving a low car, and hit the speedbump of the anchorage caravan park doing about 20k's. This has the desired result of doing damage to the exhaust i not been brave enough to look at yet, but given it the sound of a super mod speedway car personally myself i would drive it to Perth tomorrow, although to look at the car not many people would agree with me if any, my only problem would be risking getting a canary on the window!

Looks like you did a sweet job:) but the most important thing is how did it sound! you have listed ( and pictures show) your ground and signal wire comming from the head? I sometimes find you can also get some interference if you have run your negitive all the way back to the head and often I will earth it to a strong earth point close to the amp! altho the signal wire is good to wire back to head if you not have a power antenna. Love the way you have made an effort to make it tidy as you go, makes such a difference to final result.

Hey guys I work at S/cheap and get to see some things as they come on clearance, well in the wisdom of some-one part no GH526 is no longer remaining on our shelves and they just be all marked down to clearance price of $5. I have 3 in stock ATM, but all supercheap stores should have some if you quick. ( they only reduced today!) They fit the 260z so if you after a new dizzy cap go have a look. I could possibly grab one for you if you badly need one, NFI how to get it to you cheaply unless you live in W.A thou! Kobes.

Realized it also been a few months since my last donation so have helped prop it up to the 60% Marker...

Installing amps is kinda my speciality if i have one, the one bit of advise i will give you that nobody has mentioned yet is make sure you run your RCA cables away from you main power lead. It will cut down on alot of feedback noise / interferance. Atleast run your RCA leads down middle of car and power down side.

Just to Chip in also. I was interested in Rev's car, And after expressing an intrested, the rev's responce was immediate and to the point to what his expectations where in the car. There was no stringin along or tyre kickin involved, with one query i know where i stood and i think this is a testiment to Rev's integrity. I believe he has been upfront as any person could be when sellin such a unique item. Just have some tough choices to make now, and not the only one by the looks of it!

Well hope this solution works for you. On a better note, after the above mention search helped me identify it was just a head gasket problem, one trip to to auto store later and then 2 hrs chasing up my torque wrench all is fixed and she is now running like never before. I forgot how much power i never hed!

Not sure about the regular old hats but i find it somewhat difficult to use the in proram searc feature to find what i after and there is so much good info on here if you can find it. So a mate of mine show me a trick with google. In google if you type site:http://www.viczcar.com "**********" ( and replace the ****** with the word you know, then it will display only topics on THIS forum with this word. ) FOR EXAMPLE i did site:http://www.viczcar.com "compression" and it displayed all the previous post where people talked about com[pression and testing Hope this helps and is not old news And if it is old NEWS LURCH KNOWS WHAT TO DO

if i was in VIc, would almost buy it sight unseen! my guess would be i would turn up and it would be a 280z with no engine!

OK thanks for the hint Mr Camouflage. Obviously the roller door in the background was to good a hint . It is obvious lurch has realized all the good bargains in Zeds at the moments are in good ol W.A. So has decided to pack up and head to the good side of australia. In anticipation i have started cleaning up my shed.

I guess so, but my bidding will end pretty early as i will not get a chance to have a look at it !
