  1. Original Italian type 150, Bare bdy/top, with throttle spindle and plates fitted $270 Includes postage within Aus Note, this s 1 ( one) only F you find a pair of tipo 160's, and combine this, bingo, winner winner chicken dinner!
  2. Well done! What spec is Duncan Sides Z ? Hung Do in the ex Geoff Pearson/Peter Klienenburg 240 and Jeff Thomas in the white/blue Group S car are getting good value out of their car!
  3. I'm sually either kissing Adler's rear bumper, or we are touching mirrors into corners. It has mch better corner exit capability. Flett will be up here in July,,, stay tuned. HMD, just keep throwing rotors and pads at ot, and yes good fluid, and bleed/dump out each caliper after each race. 260det, as Prpduction rules regs go, we have to use what was fitted, at a Nissan factory, to new cars. See thread re the CAMS period mds etc, as we know, there were a number f new cars built at "a" nissan factory, new , that are better than the stock cheese-cutters and two puck grabbers.

Incorrect! Use 10 weight oil, Singer sewing machine oil is very good, refer to manual for correct cc amount in each. They dont get hot enough for slow sluggish 40 w to heat up to be nice thin 20w! Dashpots will be sluggish.
  5. What happens to them in severe use? The rotors develop fine hairline radial cracking, rotors wear unevenly, pads need replacing after each meeting, brake fade/boiling s a common ccurance, to extent that brakes need bleeding out f boiled fluid between races, at each meeting, and rotors need replacing at less than 0.2 mm wear. Rear shoes become ineffective very quickly, some adjust between each race, others pull handbrake on by first click on ratchet, to "lift" pedal. We are permitted to fit adjustable line pressure reducer, but must not be able to be adjusted by driver while seated. If you wish to inspect race use pads and rotors, mst welcome, have a fe sets here, from a number f the Gp S Datsun regular racers. I saw Switzer taking it nce and easy for his Group S debut, well done!

You emptied and refilled the oil on the dashpots/dampeners, with correct qty and correct weight of oil?
  7. Doesn't llok like my Group S class record is in any jeopardy,,,, at this meeting! Heard on the racevine that there will be a few Z cars coming up for the big National Historic meeting,,,,
  8. That'd get you almost one cylinder heads worth of porting done, almost!
  9. Lot f mfd washed over, they have the bg scrubbers brushing it off. Weather looks brilliant for next couple days. Just checked the entrants list for Group S. If i was in the Z, i'da been 2nd outright in all events, f I was in the Group T car, same, just cant match the brakes and corner exit ability of the 990og Lfghtweight Porsche. Now if the Z's could get brakes, carbs and rims, it'd be a different matter!
  10. My incar videos you can hear it, but also exhaust and gearbox. Quite happy at 7800 rpm As said, it sounds just like an old Holden six aftermarket cam gear drive, by Pete Jackson, where they ditched the stock bakelite fibre gear and replaced it with a steel gear. I've suppled a few of the KEW unts to both 6 and 4 cyl cars, mainly race, some rally. It's very easy to get them out of KEW. Before these were around, the likes of Graham and Stewart Wilkins, Les Collins, Murray Coote, and others had a few little well known tricks to offset mount the curved guide and stock oil tensioner plunger block, and increase spring tension, to reduce the prpensity of slack side chain whip. This stuff was done 35 years ago here!
  11. These were a "delete option" for the USA market, due to larger size buyers,,,,,
  12. It eliminates the curved slack side guide, has adjustment up near cam gear, eliminates stock oil tensioner plunger. Enables shaving of head, up to 4mm in L6, and 3mm in L4 Slight difference to L4 due to dfferent diam threads of bolts where bottom idler bolts on
  13. Dr30's ran the FJ20 The ultimate Nissan twincam was the 280hp FJ24 With a bit f a cam change, and now bigger 55mm carbs, the one I have is at 320 on a cocktail, but pulled back to 300 n Avgas.
  14. That link to calculate stuff s a bit complex! I prefer to work on Backspace measurement, first, then look at overall width second. Ie a 15x6 with pos of 24mm Is 6" x 25.4 = 152 mm o/all width. Divde that by half to give 76mm now add 24, to get 100 mm. This is the backspace. We know the S30 struts at front can handle around 110mm so that rim is fine, and ay 6" no ssue at guards A 16x8 with a plus four is 8x25.4 = 203mm o/all Divide by 2, is 101, then plus the 4 it emds up as backspace of 105mm A tyre at 225/50 will have pretty much straight sidewalls, but will come fairly close to the spring perch. A 235 or a 245 tyre width may foul the perch. With the 8" rim at plus 4 offset, it can get close to rear guard lip, depending on tyre
  15. That is why quite a few well monied owners of original GTO's get, quietly, a "toolroom" replica made of their original. The replica may just only cost $3-5 million, so it doesn't matter if it gets a bit bent when they, or their mates, punt it around Goodwood or Laguna. There was a fibreglassing shop in Sydney, GS Bdies, Planthurst St Carlton ( St George/Kogarah area) that had lots and lots of bdy moulds for all kinds of road cars, as well as race cars, and a full set of GTO moulds. Like I said,,, Was!
  16. All the Kameari timing chain tensioner units seem to be a bit noisy. Sound quite similar to the old Pete Jackson steel gear drives for the old Holden sixes. What brand was that intake mainfold?
  17. I have a centre grille, can package and freight to you!
  18. That size rim will fit, no problems.
  19. Linky to site? Do they do a 2.4 kit for SR20?
  20. Somehow on the flight over there, itpicked up another 70-80 odd horsepower, with nothing changed. Just confirmed what we all know.
  21. Did they run through the Adrad book and offer you the Holden HJ-HZ V8 unit, as a stock new replacement, rather than a new core to your existing? Stock new are a fair bit less in cost due to lower labour cost, but only if you can get them. 40 year old cars can be a touch difficult getting bit for,,,,
  22. Did this shop tell you that the new core will be exactly the same as the original core? Ie same no of tubes, and same no of fins per inch? If so then it may be that we have finally found a source for the cores the Datsun Sports originall had. This original core was very efficient!
  23. I got a 2 seater for sale, built as a Group S Prod Sports, it certainly could be pulled back to being a road car, currently unreg. Its all riginal, back to ketal, rust free body, high HP L28E engine, close ratio bx, full plated LSD, can supply as either 4.4 or 4.1 dff, It s double the price f that Toowoomba car. Welcome to inspect, can get it up on my hoist for an under check. Buipd/resto photos and documents/recits. Car was fully rebuilt in 2003-2004. If you want a docile, dont look at ,e, gentlemanly type car, forget this one! She's a grumpy cammy rock'n'roller circuit car, buipt to the rules as set for Historic Group S Sports cars. Current lap record holder at three circuits, often runs in top ten places at most race meets, has had plenty podium outright places, and won a few lcal champoinship series.
  24. You bought lts of o D type cars before? Do the sual checks you'd do with any 30 year old car! Just 'cos it 's red and shiney, it could be hiding the odd surprise. Take a felt covered magnet, to run it along body work, a decent small torch to look in nooks and crannys, a jack and axle stand to have a look at bits where your head dont fit. It is a 2+2 and these usually do not sell for as mch as a 2seater. Is s priced a touch high. Ask to see all reciepts for parts and work done. A Toowoomba, or country car should have less rust than say a coastal city car. 220 hungee's is a bit to stick in your pocket!
  25. In 2008, 2009, and 2012 it was the S30, and yes, in Sc, and yes, in front of Pantereas, and all nar four, on a few occaisions. In2010, it was the other car, and I took out all four races, incl the Vistorian Tourist Trophy for Historic Sports cars, an event that clebrates the originals, my thing was the only genuine Historic car in the field, not a replica. Ran it again in 2011, the organsers were to D to place me in with the later Sc cars, top 5 finisher there too. Great fun Now who wants a ready to race lap record holding Datsun Z car to go have fun with, up the pointy end, following James Flett around?
