  1. In the photo you’ll see a ‘flat’ on the axle shaft. Does this mean the axle flat should be facing a particular direction in the diff centre? The axle will go in anyway you want it providing the splines are aligned. Wondering if the flat is an oil feed or something.
  2. Oh yeah, looks great. What a garage, a sweet 240 or the Porsche to choose from!
  3. +1 for a nice aluminium raydot mirror
  4. Already got the crown wheel and pinion isotropic super finished. Makes for a whisper quiet diff. Ok WPC not required then, let the install begin, thanks chaps!
  5. Anyone have experiences with WPC coating parts? Would it be worthwhile getting the diff plates WPC coated before installing?
  6. @hmd Chris is an engineer, he has machinery in his shed and works from home. He does plenty of Datsun stuff. If you want his details PM me.
  7. I have 260z front struts I can swap as well as cash, or just cash.
  8. Managed to get a little shed time, I always felt the shifter was too close to the dash. So I chopped a bendy shifter and welded it to the current one. Result is a much better position, it’s taller too for that old school feel. Also, the OS Giken super lock has arrived! I might have a go at setting this one up myself using Nissan’s Yellow bible, if I can’t figure it out I’ll drop it off to Chris Wood. He’s always done a great job on my diffs in the past and he’s cheap too. The Torsen centre will be for sale on here soon.
  9. I’m sure I am, with the tool I should only risk cuts on one hand now! How does it attach to the dimple plate, did you weld studs on it?
  10. After a bare set 240z front struts, don’t need the hubs or springs. Hit me up if you have any or know of some.
  11. Scored some Nissan special service tools off Le eBay. Hopefully it makes valve adjustments easier I always find it a touchy job.
  12. The mounts are just a flat threaded plate that’s screwed onto the buckets with small self tappers. Would it be any harder to make them from stainless like the Gnose covers? I had issues with my old short nose chrome covers holding water around the screw holes and then rusting.
  13. Looking good, keen to know more about the bilsteins. Did you section the struts or use any spacers? I don’t mind the bronze, it’s a change from the black everything on all the mechanical parts. I’ve thought about doing the yellow chromate on struts, similar to the Ohlins S30 ones without the price tag.
  14. I forgot to say, Katokids and Lightmasters cars looked fantastic. Nice to see them up close, as photos no matter how good don’t do the cars justice. Great work guys!
  15. I’ve already got an OS Giken on the way from Otomotto, $1689 including shipping. SWM had the Kaaz on the shelf for $1400, he can fit the threaded buttons if you need but I’m not sure if that costs extra. I read a few reviews saying Kaaz LSD’s were noisey, that put me off them a little, not that I’d hear it anyway.
  16. Yeah very good turn out and a great variety of cars on show!
  17. Copied this straight from the OS Giken website Due to the precision manufacturing, high-grade materials, and unique design, a break-in period nor rebuild is required for OS Giken LSD’s. OS LSD is purposefully over-engineered to offer the best performing, most durable clutch-type LSD available. No break in required? No rebuilding required?
  18. So, according to Whitehead performance the “OS Giken NS081-HA” is a ready bolt in option, it contains the threaded buttons for the OEM bolt in splined side flanges. This is for the R180 115mm diffs to be clear. https://whiteheadperformance.com/product/os-giken-super-lock-lsd-limited-slip-differential-unit-long-nose-r180-ns081-ha-datsun-240z-260z-280z-280zx-510/
  19. Could I use buttons from a spare open diff? Are they easy enough to install in the diff centre?
  20. Does anyone have any experience with these, particularly the NS081-HA for R180’s From what I can gather it’s to suit a later 115mm crown wheel from the K series diffs? Do they come with the threaded ‘buttons’ to suit the OEM bolt in side flanges for stock half shafts?
  21. It looks very similar to my one. The only difference I can see is the horn retaining plate has two screw holes and not four. RS Mach were only doing a limited 10 piece re-run of the ‘ura’. All sold out before we got ours. So many great parts, so little money!
  22. @hmd what’s the wear like on the Yoki’s? Quite a few people recommend the Yoki’s, I’d heard they wore quicker than others but I guess if they’re the quicker tyre then that’s the trade off. I’ve run Toyo R888’s and Bridgestone RE55’s RE11s. Bridgestones were great in the dry, Toyo’s great in the wet.
  23. Looks great! Can’t wait to see it after the final polish.
  24. Glove box door and glove box inner out and you can get to all three of the middle gauges fairly easy.
