would be interesting to find out just how fast it would go flat out, on a runway, track or salt plains, do not know that even a turbo 280zx motor would achieve 250+kph, it certainly has the aero when fixed up but don't believe it has the torque to push the car

yes the 280zx is heavier but is also more rigid allowing for modifications , like mine they are comfortable and when fixed up can keep up with any car -

yes, Rob did the chassis on my 280zx ready for the V8 conversion, he is a fussy bugger sometimes but does a great job..

what box are you running, what does you v8 rev to? surely you could get more than 170kph out of it Try a better revving V8

I have a r200 diff in my 79 280zx, but swapped the centre for a kazz LSD unit, no pulling to either side and is rock solid with big horsepower and even bigger torque.

fitting won't be a problem as I squeezed a VH45de motor into a 280zx..have fun with your conversion -
try giving Rob at Z Restoration factory a buzz, he usually has 1 or 2 boxes around, might even have the one i pulled out of my Z , which was perfect, but not striong enough for new motor http://www.zfactory.com.au Regards Iain
