Howdy all,
Have posted comments to others but have not done an intro so here goes....
My Z journey (at least this one) started about 13 years ago with the purchase of a run down 280zx
The 280zx was always renowned as a lounge room lizard, not quite as nimble as it's earlier family, that was due to emission controls and the such giving inadequate power..
I wanted to change that, and after alot of research and watching too much YouTube, decided to go for the hardest option, drop in the VH45de motor out of the Nissan Infiniti Q45(also President), always wanted to keep it purely Nissan/Datsun.
Thats when the real fun began, about 3 years ago decided to take her off the road and do the swap. Already had done lots of work prior to get her ready for the swap, including changing the diff to LSD, bigger brakes (from Hoppers Stoppers) and Robbie from Z restoration Factory put in a new chassis rails, (thicker and stronger) and tolerated me doing body repairs and constantly correcting me for the mess I was making ( thanks Robbie!)
Then after 2 stuffed motors and lots of frustration found a almost new motor ex japan (through Import monster) and got that attached to an adapter from the states and through a Z32 300zx 5 speed manual box.
EFI was sorted out by Sabbadin Automotive (Wolf V500) who must of gotten sick of seeing me all the time , wanting it completed..
Interior was redone (Boronia Auto Trimmers) and more new stuff added , Alpine TV,DVD,GPS, alarm, couple of amps and bluetooth all custom fitted.
Finally on the road after 3 years and almost bankrupting me..hoping to join back up with the NDSOC and go for some nice civilised drives in it.
Pictures are on Gallery !!
Looking forward to seeing what other insane projects are being done to the humble Z or ZX car
