  1. So what was the outcome on this? Any suggestions how best to remove a snapped head bolt. I have one snapped in the block. It is flush with the deck of the block so I can't use multigrips. Should I try an ezy out? Should I just give it to a professional? Should I ditch the block and move on to my spare?
  2. Is that a Nissan Saliva.... oh wait that is spelled Silvia.... either way you don't need them in your camera
  3. That is one heck of a car. I love the way they didn't even bother with a wiper for the passenger
  4. I have an R200. Not sure of the ratio. I'll check it and get back to you. If I haven't in a week or so please remind me.....My memory is failing in my old age....What were we talking about again?
  5. Those are excellent!! Can you confirm which track this is?
  6. Can I get a price for one of the "mini Garages" you have on sale? Seriously though can you check if there is a code on the King Springs? Should be something like KPS xxxx. Do you want me to bring that R180 diff around so you can add it to the list of stuff you are selling?
  7. No no, its 1 per day and 1 x 2 seater to loan out to forum members
  8. Here is mine. You can clearly make out one of my zeds in the back yard.......I have photoshopped out the part of the image where I was sunbaking
  9. Please no sat photos from above my place. I only recently realised this capability existed and until then I regularly sun baked naked in my back yard...So if you go there looking for my zed collection you might get more than you bargained for!!!

    Front Sway bar

I am currently running a bog standard original front sway bar from a 260z. Can I get some opinions regarding the appropriate size bar for a road registered race car running 250 to 300Lb front springs?
  11. The r200 isn't particularly rare unless you insist on lsd. The series 1 brakes are significantly smaller than the series 2. If you are truely just going to cruise they will do. But anything more lively realy would lend itself to the larger brakes.
  12. Mate this is brilliant. I have been having similar issues on mine. I will certainly be giving this a go. Thanks heaps
  13. Welcome. Is it auto or manual? You might want to double check if it has an R180 or R200 diff and if it has CVs or Unis in the rear. If you are planning to squeeze a few ponies out of the RB you should really make sure it has the R200 diff and CV half shafts to handle the horsepower. You might also think about double checking which rear brakes your car has. The 280zx series 1 has smaller and uglier rear brakes. If you have those it would be well worth an upgrade to series 2 calipers (or something better) Good luck with the project.
  14. I'm in (depending on dates and times). How long is the session? If its not an all day session we could even combine it with a few laps at the big Kart track It would be a great day. I still recall one of my best driving days was a very wet day at the big kart track getting those karts sideways. yeee ha
  15. The gearbox must not be mounted correctly
  16. Guys, this is just a quick bump to make sure you put this event in your diary. It is always a great day worth attending. It is truely there to serve us enthusiasts and doesn't aim to fill anyone's back pocket. For these reasons I highly recommend supporting this event. Lets see how many zeds we can get attending. Dave does the record of number of zeds at a QLD multimake car show still stand at 11 from motorfest a few years back? Surely we can do better.
  17. Happy Bday Lurch. See you real soon.
  18. I hope they aren't the ones that went missing from this forum a year or so ago???
  19. I agree with the logic but in my case it has only been a few months, no other modifications and only one extra heat cycle on the tyres (and that was in wet conditions so I'm not sure if it even counts). The only other variables worth mentioning are track and air temp but we'll have to wait and see on those. By the way I had the bonnet open on my 93 cruiser tonight and the AFM in there looks the same as the 99 camry unit.
  20. I will be able to answer with a direct comparison of track times after Saturday. The Toyota unit is significantly bigger. The smallest part of the air passage with the flap fully open is (by looks) around 15-20% bigger. So I suspect performance would be unchanged until you exceed the air flow through the smallest part of the nissan unit. In other words it should extend the power at full revs with full throttle.
  21. OK so I proved that the AFM was my problem bt leaving it in but pluging the old one in and jamming it open with a screw driver while I started the car....no issue. So I took the new one back out and checked the resistance values, the ranges were similar to the nissan item but the pins were in a different order. So I have made an adaptor out of a spare EFI harness swapped the pins over and I seem to have solved the issue. Wooo hooo!!!
  22. Darn, wish you had of mentioned it before Xmas. I could have grabbed the one from the car I wrecked. I think I might have another one but it is buried under a pile of stuff so it would be dificult to check the condition. Let me know if you run out of options.
  23. I tried mine this afternoon. I had a bit more luck the car wants to run but is hunting on idle. I'm not sure where to look for the cause. Any suggestions? Maybe an adjustment of the bypass?
  24. Yeah you are probably right I was working from memory. 80mm does sound right. Yes it is identical to the one in your pic other than the code numbers.
  25. I am probably about 6-8 months off having my new engine ready. What is your lead time / next batch for one of these?
