    Errrrr I'm not sure I understand. That body kit was metal? That is rare at least these days. Also it looks like it was all integrated (joined together) so if you removed all that how are you going to replace all the missing parts (panels etc)? Don't take this as a criticism, its just a very interesting project.

    Thats an interesting body kit. I haven't seen one quite like it before. I personally would keep it how it is with the exception of the extended front number plate mount. Keep us informed of your progress and questions.

    253 into 260z

    I had never considered a 253 for my zed.....until I read this post. Now I must have one. You guys have sold me on the idea. Who says the 253 doesn't produce much power. All it needs is a boiler to capture all the power from the steam and hot air produced from this thread. I do agree the advice given in the thread was accurate and appropriate. However I think the tone was a bit over the top in places. My manager provides feedback with this sort of tone hence why I am moving to another job.

    I put mine in first last week but had to take it back out due to clearance issues. I run fuel injection so the injection crud was in the way. Today I elongated the bolt holes in my pressure regulator and some pipework so the regulator sits further forward and the pipes are lower. All good now just in time for the motorkhana tomorrow.

    Yup $400 is about the right ballpark. I don't need another one but I would take the lot for $250 if you get to the point where you need it gone and haven't had any other offers. (I hope that doesn't sound like I am trying to take advantage).

    That is certainly the case for the more remote states. Here is QLD we just can't attract enought Z cars to justify a pure Z nationals. We struggled to break even after including the other models. It might be a different story for more central states like NSW. But to be honest I like the idea of leaving it open to all nissan and datsuns. It broadens the experience.

    Mine is a 1983 280zx purchased in 1994 and I still have it on the road. My brother had a 260z 2+2 back in the late 80s in Sydney. I'd love to know where that one is too.

    Can someone get me a copy of the page/s that talk about removal of the throttles and the bearings on the pivot? Sorry if I've used the wrong terms. Thanks Greg

    are you talking about the glass fibers or the resin? +1 for the previous advice if you have resin. But if you have glass fibers stuck in your skin there is no easy answer.

    I am a little confused (as usual) Do you have an imported 280z (s30) or a 280zx (S130)? ZG flares were only fitted to the S30 as far as I know. So if you are planning to apply them to an S130 you'll have your work cut out.

    Obviously I am in the minority but I like the karma thing (without the ability to subtract). I don't understand how it could hurt anything?? I find it interesting to see who helps their fellow zed owners. It might not be accurate but who the heck cares.
