Looks better than the 1988 Nissan Pintara that I just got for my son. Then again I may not be on the same salary and have a 30 year old son that has no money. What the heck I love doing it anyway.

Got sick of washing the dust off the Z so I come up with this. Bought a light car cover and a couple of pulleys and some rope. Now I can get the Z out of the shed nice and shiny without having to wash it every time. Got to let it cool down before lowering the cover. Result. no more dust covered Z.

Hey Zac, Just paint your rocker cover like I did and you won't have to hide your battery.

I think you need to buy a decent lead and smokey light paint. ;D

Sorry mate, but I do about 120k a year on the road and I see some scary stuff from people who would probably think they are race car drivers or would like to be. Only problem is they are driving family sedans or SUV's with Mum and the Kids on board.

Totally agree with you Gav. In regard to saftey features, if you are taught to drive properly with regard to speed and road conditions combined with the capabilities of your vehicle and driving ability, there would be no need for all the air bags etc that are in cars today. Only problem is all the idiots on the road, or are they just idiots with very small amounts of grey matter who think they are better drivers than Dick Johnson etc. At least racing car drivers do their stuff on the track not on public roads.

Thanks guys for the comments. This car is a daily driver for my son, so I have to make it as reliable as possibles due to me being away a lot with work. This car is a gem for him as he is not a rev head and does not know which way to do a nut up or undo it. God help him if he gets a flat tyre. Mind you he is only 30 years old. His sister on the the other hand is a total rev head. But no matter how old they are they are still your kids and you have to help them. Danny has been going through a bad period with depression but is coming along good and now this car has really perked him up. Took it for a test drive today for about 40k and it come up tops so now all it needs now is a new rear muffler and a radiator check . Daughter on the other hand is studying to be a lawyer. Might need her one day if I get caught being a hoon in the Z. LOL.

One thing about it, I love fixing up the cars and he always pays me back. Or should I say gives the money to his mother. Some times I think I am missing something.

Well as always happens when I am on holidays, one of my kids seem to come up with something urgent for me to do. This time my sons old Corsair decided to shiver itself. As it originally cost ME 500 bucks plus all the extra to make it reliable, I decided enough is enough, so had a look around and found a one owner SR31 Pintara last registed in 2007. What a gem, replaced all hoses, fluides, timing belt and brake pads. Runs like a dream and has so much more power than the Corsair even though it has the same motor. Gave it a wash and wax today and not looking forward to the hand over day. Will give it a few good runs before the keys are handed over to make sure everything is OK. Just love these old cars.

The nut was the cause of the same problem I had. Ripped it out and threw in a S13 box.

Thanks Guys, Old oil looked good [still red] and no burnt smell. This box doesn't have a bottom pan and I don't have a service manual. Will have to rip up to Auto Barn and get one to find out about the part you mention.

Hi My son has a Auto Pintara. It is reving high in first before changing into second and on slowing down bangs when engaging first. Oil is ok, nice and red but changed it anyway but still doing the same thing. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Thank you for this info. There is no way I would be taking my Z on the track, but would be a good day or days to go for a run in the Z to watch the cars go around. Will check the calendar for 2013 and see if I am home that weekend and if so will book mark it.

All Z Parts SUCK. They still owe me money for parts that were never supplied. :'(

Looks fantastic mate. Only why do people off set the front no plate. To me it spoils the front on look when not in the centre.

That's because it was a 100KPH zone. Have a look at your speedo, is it in KPM or MPH. If you continue to try to keep up with high powered motorbikes your Z is not going to last long.
