  1. hopefully you still have the girls and flares
  2. Richard, This kit was done by Dorian a long time a go in the early-mid 2000. You don't really need this as the new Dorian are much smaller making it really easy to mount any where.
  3. @gav240z You need another one. Ok you may not need it, but you sure want it
  4. Gordo, it's not all plain sailing building a new race car and practically that what you were doing. I am sure you will bounce back stronger. Many LS engine had met it's demise at PI because of the long sweeping corners. All my V8 racing friends run AccuSump or similar setup.
  5. It's official ? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-09-07/the-classic-car-feeding-frenzy-is-over-for-skittish-collectors
  6. Grodo, love your work.
  7. There are different versions of Subaru r180 diff, the preferred one with clutch pack only come with certain models according to Stewart Wilkins. Then you have to factor in shaft changes etc..... p.s I would call Stewart Wilkins in Sydney or Martin Falconer in WA (I bought a used one from him few year ago).
  8. They are quite rare, I think they were motorsport option item. They didn't come stock with any datto. USD$600 for used one https://whiteheadperformance.com/product/nissan-oem-4-375-r180-diff-differential-used-datsun-240z-260z-280z-280zx/

after July 1st 2019, avas has been banned. lots of race people are still figuring out what to use. some has gone with Elf 102 race which contains lots of toluene.
  10. a nice orange Z in the rookie (cop show) on channel 7 last night. Not sure but implication that it's one of the cop's personal car. So may be more appearance for future episodes. Show is 5/10 though.
  11. unbelievable speed Paul. My car top speed at the end of the straight is slower than your at the first gantry on the straight.
  12. Most sprints do not require logbook, may be challenge Bathurst do,
  13. Paul's 240z time is CRAZY fast.
  14. You don't need to logbook a car for sprint. There is a General Requirement for car and drivers here https://cams.com.au/regulations/manual/general-requirements I am pretty sure for sprints any seat is fine provided it's mounted correctly With tint 'have any window or windscreen fitted made from a material which is clear or, if tinted, compliant with AS 2080;' If you have a cage it probably wise to register it with CAMS because they do change their cage requirement structure from year to year.
  15. ugly but cheap and potential to mod it.
  16. @gav240z This is for you https://www.domain.com.au/news/hot-property-the-melbourne-fire-station-up-for-sale-812841/?utm_campaign=strap-masthead&utm_source=the-age&utm_medium=link&utm_content=pos1&ref=pos1
  17. haha that's the way.
  18. Couldn't have said the bold bit better myself. BTW the datsun roadster of John Giest is killing it in the Sb under 2L category.
  19. it doesn't matter though, James Flett can get plenty power out of these engines. What we need is more tyre and brake. we run 195/60 tyres whereas the 911 run 225/50 on the rears and the Vette and Pantera even wider tyres.
  20. my qualy lap
  21. Group S porkers are yesteryear trend much like Sydney and Melbourne house prices. The current weapons of choice in group S is 454 big block Vette or Pantera with Cleveland 351.
  22. It may be logbook group S. But it's no longer conform with those flares and carbon fibre bits just for starter.
  23. Track had those dust they put on top on oil spill and also the driver lacked a bit of talent I wasn't the only one who spun
  24. @Gordo 75db will be a deal breaker for race cars.
