  1. Here's a pic of all the components I'm waiting for...
  2. Anyone restoring a Zed right now? You might like the guards I have for sale here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,4147.0.html
  3. Here are a pair of front guards for a 240Z. I was going to use them on my car, so I had rust repair panels welded in and they have been hi-filled. At the last minute I decided to fit fibreglass guards so they have been sitting in the shed since then. They need a bit of a tidy-up before you fit them but they are pretty good overall. When I did a trial fit they were a bit wrong at the bottom edge (probably due to the shape of the rust repair panel) so you may want to do a bit of work to make sure they'll fit perfectly before you paint them. With this in mind they are going cheap at $200 the pair, which is less than I paid for the repairs and hi-fill. Still available!
  4. For anyone doing this in NSW I recommend Drift Garage 0404 081 116. Luis charges $55 a corner to do it with a proper guard roller and does a great job.
  5. Haven't read it. Yes plenty of range and any spring rate you like.
  6. I doubt if there will be enough demand to justify an off-the-shelf kit, but the turnaround time for this upgrade should be less than a week and we are aiming for under $900 a pair.

  8. The brake bracket was then welded onto the bracket and the coilover screwed into the bracket. Screwing the coilover up or down adjusts the height without touching the spring seat. This does away with the need for a helper spring so you can keep more bump travel. At the top of the coilover we used the upper seat from our sleeve kit, drilled out to 22mm to suit the shaft of the coilover. This sits against the orignal top slider for the 240Z. The hole for the threaded part of the shaft was drilled out to 18mm to suit the nut from the TT. This was cut down so it would not foul on the spacer when the whole thing was tightened up. The second shot shows the finished coilover conversion in place. It is a fair bit of mucking around, but soon we will be offering an upgrade service where you send us your struts (front or rear) and we send them back ready to bolt back into your car.
  9. I decided to go one step further than our sleeve kit and adapt an HSD TT-type coilover to my 240Z. This took a bit of mixing and matching, but the end result gives me a larger range of height adjustment and a large-diameter 12-step adjustable damper. First I had to pick a suitable damper. Based on the overall body length and stroke I chose this TT damper from the front of a GC8 WRX kit. To adapt this to the 240Z strut tube we used a base bracket from an EK Civic, which we machined down to match the inside diameter of the strut tube. The standard strut tube was then cut down to only 50mm long, so we could slide in the bracket and weld it in place. For extra strength two holes were drilled in the tubes so we could weld onto the lower part of the bracket too.
  10. 'Wet' carbon is just hand-laid into the mould like most fibreglass parts and the resin added with a brush and roller. This usually means the woven carbon cloth is not perfectly flat and even in the mould and you can have some air bubbles and excess resin. Vacuum-bagging is a technique used to press the cloth flat and squeeze out the bubbles in the resin so you get a very smooth and even finish (plus a lighter final piece). As there is minimal resin the top surface also appears clearer (not cloudy), making the carbon look better too. There are more steps to the process but this is the basic difference.
  11. Listing starts 9pm tonight
  12. One set only for the ultimate old-school fan: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300325117346
  13. They appear to be vacuum-bagged
  14. I believe they are 115mm, the 110mm is fairly rare. If you are interested in ordering one I will be happy to check this with OS
  15. I can supply an OS Giken super-lock mechanical LSD to suit the R180 in a 240Z (genuine bolt-in option unlike some) for $1990 including GST. This is a rebuildable and adjustable plate-type LSD that will give genuine 100% locking under power. R200 version to suit 260Z and 280ZX also available.
  16. 16x7 and 16x8 Watanabes, need 20mm spacers to fit a Z but good for various other Datsuns http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=300323281464 Also these old 14-inch mags: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Magnum-14-inch-mags-suit-Datsun-240Z-Celica-etc_W0QQitemZ300323285630QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item45eca9aa7e&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A30

I think being a +10 they would be too close to the struts (since they are a bit bigger on a 260Z) so you may need a spacer, or a coilover conversion. No I don't sell tyres.

New colour for Grids now available. This satin bronze finish is called "Sports Bronze". I have these available now for $1000 a set plus delivery. PM me for a delivery price.
  20. Here I have the wheels from my project car. They are Magnums, made in Australia by Samson Engineering. They are very old, most likely dealer-fitted. I'm not sure of the size but it looks like 14x6. Good condition overall, light gutter scrapes on the edges but nothing to worry about. They have good tyres too, 205/60 front and rear. One pair is Falken Ziex, about 60% tread, the others are Yokohamas, about 90% tread. $200 for the set. Maybe a cheap way out if you need tyres for rego Still available!
  21. I got mine from the US, but now I can get them from Japan. See the Otomoto section. As for Tokyo, sorry I don't have any suppliers there, but there is a cool shop called Star Road in Atsugi that specializes in Zeds and Hakosukas.
  22. They had one like that in Japan called a Sunny Excellent
  23. lol The worst one I heard was Ford Capri, put me in a bad mood all day
