  1. Bear in mind that the shock travel determines how much suspension droop you have. The overall length of the spring and helper spring supplied is still less than the original spring, so unless you set the ride height quite high, the spring may not be held captive at full droop (like if you go over a crest in the road). For this reason it makes sense to fit a shock with shorter travel that will keep the spring captive at full droop. Also when fitting these springs you should be fitting a stiffer damper that suits the 6kg/mm spring rate anyway, so it makes sense to use a shorter one while you are at it.
  2. We have just received stock of our new hub-centric spacers. These are made from 6160-T6 aluminium for great strength and are available with a variety of hub spacers to retain the wheel-centering characteristic of the original hub. The spacers themselves are 20mm thick and come in four or five stud with 1.25 or 1.5 pitch studs, all 114.3 PCD. The spacers are $159 a pair by themselves, the hub-centric sleeves are $36 a pair.

Running out of 17x9.5, hurry if you want them.
  4. Narrower conrod pin width on the crank probably helps rigidity too. This bottom end is designed to suit 10,000rpm+ though you would probably want to brace the block to stop it twisting too.
  5. For those who are interested in just the bottom half of the OS Giken L-series, they now have a 3.2-litre kit available, using a fully counter-weighted crank with 86mm stroke, which gives 3208.4cc capacity with 89mm pistons. The kit includes forged chrome-moly conrods and forged aluminium pistons. For more details check out the info from OS Giken below. The local price in Australia Japan for the crank, conrod and piston kit (without bearings) is $14,500 OS Giken Engine Parts for Nissan L Type Engines Crankshaft Material---Chrome-molybdenum Full Counter Stroke OS 86mm (Nissan OEM 79mm) Pin Width OS 21.7mm (Nissan OEM 27mm) Pin Diameter OS 48mm (Nissan OEM 50mm) Please use connecting rod bearings of Nissan OEM RB26DETT (Please purchase them at Nissan parts.). Please use a key enclosed in the kit which is modified to 1 piece. Description OS Giken stroke is 7mm longer than Nissan OEM L Type engine. If it is used with diameter 89mm pistons, engine displacement becomes 3208.4cc. Pin Width is 5.3mm narrower than Nissan OEM L Type engine by using Nissan RB26DETT connecting rod bearing. Piston Material---Forged Aluminum Pin Height OS 29.4mm (Nissan OEM 38.1mm) Pin Diameter OS 20mm (Nissan OEM 21mm) Pin Length 61mm Diameter---Please choose one from followings (87mm, 87.5mm, 88mm, 88.5mm, 89mm, 89.3mm, and 89.5mm). 6. Please PM me with more information on what you want to do.
  7. You could buy a 432Z for that price
  8. Not sure what you need for RWC in VIC so can't answer that, sorry. It wouldn't stop a car getting pink-slipped in NSW.
  9. Wish I'd found some complete rear quarters when I did my resto' - the weld-in panels were a complete bastard
  10. Going through some more tuning on the car. Turns out that my alternator has not been maintaining consistent voltage, so I just fitted an 85A item with a built-in regulator. Saves a bit of weight too as you can ditch the big regulator box on the inner guard. Going through the tuning process again at a different shop confirmed that the figures on the original dyno graph were representative of engine power, not power at the tyres. You'll have to ask Pulse why their dyno is set up like that. On 98-octane we couldn't run much ignition timing, which limited power to 151kW at the wheels. With 102-octane unleaded race fuel it made 160kW and also gained up to 15kW in the midrange.
  11. I've had most of those at one time or another. I currently have a mint set of 15x7 zero offset August Feroce rims with tyres if someone wants them. You can see them on the blue car in the first photo on my KHGC110 thread.

You and dazzed apparently. The GT-R grille is pretty similar to the 180B SSS, but the rest of the car is a lot more angular
  13. Please use this link instead: http://www.otomoto.com.au/osgiken/competition_twin_plate.htm Super singles are available to order too, but at $1595 you might as well buy a twin.
  14. That is fantastic, I would buy that tomorrow if I didn't have my car already
  15. Still looks about the same really

Fitted some low springs and shocks to the back of the car today. A pair of 10kg/mm 200mm springs seem to sit just right, while modified MX5 rear dampers were a good match. As you can see the 17x9.5s are actually an easy fit at the rear.
  17. I'd prefer this for $20k http://yahoo.kurumaerabi.com/html/20000202/77/image.html
  18. Here is the pic from the catalog
  19. They come as a kit with an Ultra ignition box, 62,750 yen in Japan. I didn't use the Ultra ignition box but set up my ECU to use the CAS in the distributor. Easy really as it just has 12V power and a signal wire. Can't use the factory tacho unfortunately.
  20. Yes the cap is hitachi, casting is by Kameari and as I said before, twin bearings, different drive gear and yes chopper wheel/CAS inside.
  21. Actually Jatco 4-speed if you read the text
  22. Just had the Kameari distributor fitted, along with an LS1 ignition coil. Now I've discovered an issue with the alternator dropping voltage, so I can't tune it properly yet.
  23. has nobody run their car in the last 18 months?

Trial-fitted the flares and wheels today. I'm going to run 17x8.5 +4 at the front and 17x9.5 -19 at the rear. The C110 flares don't give you as much room at the front as you get on a Zed, so the 17x9 -13 wasn't suitable. Once it is lowered this combo should sit just nicely inside the flares without too much tyre stretch.
