This is the car that won the 1971 event. Text from Zhome.com: In its first entry in the 19th East African Safari Rally (1971) the Datsun 240Z won the Over-all Victory, Class Victory, Team Victory and Manufactures Championship. This victory also set new records as NISSAN became the first company to win back to back Victories in all three categories! (the Datsun 1600SSS Team having done the same in 1970). The driving team of Edgar Herrmann / Hans Schuller also became the first team to win back to back over-all victories! Another significant note is that the Datsun 240Z was the first vehicle to capture an Over-all victory in its first year of competition!

Actually Tommy Kaira M30 was an R31 Coupe with an early RB20 style head on an RB30 block, atmo.

To the members waiting for our RB order of 16x8s and 15s to arrive... sorry to say they have been delayed further . For some reason the ship was delayed in HK so it won't get in until May 20. We were told it was already here so that came as a surprise . Anyhow I will post when they are actually in our warehouse. By the way we are down to our last pair of 17x9.5s.

Round my way RB stands for Run Bearing. Personally I think if you're not going to keep an L-series then you might as well go to a 1JZ engine (like I did) which is cheaper, much stronger internally, more powerful and much more torquey in standard form.

No, but they do have a bonnet and front guards in fibreglass. The sills should really be steel, no?

Quick pic of our sleeve kits fitted to the struts going into my KHGC110 (240K). We also used the HSD universal camber tops, cut and drilled to suit the 110.

That is interesting, illuminas are pretty stiff when you turn the adjustment up

Thanks for the referral RB30X, unfortunately Mr. Spanishroll thinks $415 is too much money for a brand new spoiler imported from Japan. Seems like paying more than five bucks for anything is too much going by the rest of this thread
