    Any high resistance connection causes heat; especially one that carries so much current! Best thing is to replace those connectors with new ones, don't bother cleaning them.

    Hi all, I have a skin cut from a roof of a 240Z, that isn't a complete skin, but about 90% of a whole one; hasn't had the spotwelds drilled out and the whole skin removed..just been cut with a grinder around the outside perimeter. Perfect if you want to cover a sunroof hole in your roof. Can be trimmed and butt-welded in place. I can take a pic if needed, but its just a piece of curved sheetmetal.. Asking $200.     Sounds like it could either be the brushes on the starter or the contacts in the solenoid; brushes can be replaced, and some solenoids can be serviced.. Pity you're not in Melbourne...have about 5 starter motors that are getting scrapped....

    If you're going to that much trouble to install an RB, i wouldn't waste my time with a SOHC version.. At the very least an RB25DE (then throw another few thousand bucks at it to get the same power as a healthy L28). Either a RB25DET or just stick to a good L series with some good mods and you should be happy with the result.

    Fu, that one is gone but I do have a 260Z one that holds water...haven't tested it fully but if you want it, it's yours. Don't know about that other poster about Toyota parts? WTF? must have been deleted...

    I've used a small bit of hose running to a fuel filter clipped under the body for a vent for the diff..works well.

    You're not wrong about an electric water pump to make it easier..there would be extra pulleys and belts to add then having to make a cover to fit it. Is that timing belt an RB26 one and will all the timing be right? Will you be running carbs or EFI with ind throttles?

    Are you doing all this on the ground with the car jacked up? If so' I'd recommend getting the car to where you have access to a hoist so you can get under there properly and as Gareth said, I nice ring spanner and make sure its not partially on and then try to undo it. Give it a couple of light taps with a hammer to "break the seal" then if needed give it some heat.

    Peter, I had a similar problem with the shifter popping out of 5th... I was dreading it was the gearbox but luckily turned out it was the rubber boot pulling the shifter back into neutral... Try it without the boot first before you remove the gearbox.

    As Fu said, get someone to spray the house on the car while you are inside with the carpet removed and you may be able to find where it comes from..
