  1. Just a quick note if you cant find another one, might be a good time to update to a 280ZX internally regulated alternator. Then you can ditch that volt reg and have a higher capacity unit! Just a thought...
  2. One last attempt would be with brake fluid on the threads after you have attacked it with a wire brush to get rid of all the built up old dirt..Then hold the other end of the strap with some big adjustable wrench to stop it from twisting. If above fails cut them off and get some second hand ones from a wreck!
  3. Stan Holmes is the one to thank! He told me that when he checked my LSD and he was 100% right with that. Went home and measured and he was spot on.
  4. If you find one from a DR30 or even a 2 door turbo R31 Skyline the R200 fits straigh in without any mods. The only thing to remember is the output flanges from the open R200 have to be reversed when installed in the LSD R200 (left to right). That can be checked with a vernier caliper using the depth measurement.
  5. That's probably after the slap to the face! hehehe
  6. Speed bump! Its on evilBay as of now if there was anyone remotely interested...
  7. Looks good for a 32 year old zed! I'm surprised it still has its front under tray! Normally they get removed and thrown out. Keep it there...
  8. Its always worth it! I'm chasing up bits to do it to one of my zeds! Heres the "how to": http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,1986.0.html
  9. It is a NA gearbox. Reason is there are no modifications needed to fit the NA box compared to the turbo box. With the turbo, original transmission mounts in the tunnel have to be trimmed back/removed for clearance.
  10. Tis the season to be selling tra la la la la la la....Theres going to be a flood of good stuff on the market..
  11. Welcome! and you got yourself what looks like a great buy there! If you don't mind me asking, how much did it go for? When I last saw it price was $7200..Looks like you dont need to do a thing to it! for a long drive, just check vital fluids, top em up and keep an eye on the gauges! Also keep some basic tools handy (murphy's laws). Post some more pis when you can!
  12. Hey Luis, have one of each here in Moorabbin off a late (77) 2+2 if you want. I thought the 2 seater and 2+2 were different?
  13. Sorry to dig this subject up again but looks like I might have to part with this RB setup! At this moment I'm getting an L24 rebuilt and I'm going to need the funds for that. Its the matching engine # that's going back in (with a little extra work being done). Should see at least the same if not more Kw's at the wheels so it should be good. This sale would be for the engine, clutch + flywheel, 5 speed trans, alternator, triple weber manifold, engine mounts/sump and lots of other misc bits and pieces. All up I'm hoping for $1800 ready to drop in. You can run Webers/Dellorto's on this manifold but need a MSD ignition controller to run the distributor-less ignition and coil pack. Power I attained was around the 120rwKw but with some lumpier cams and headers, 140+ would be achievable. I'll leave it here for about a week then its evilBay! Please no comments other than questions or genuine interest...
  14. Funny you should mention about the brakes...at the last MSCA event we had a club member who is obviously getting better driving around the circuit with R spec rubber and a 3 ltr engine, discovered what "brake fade" is! As you set up your car and find it works better, you tend to push it harder and then you find the limit of the stock brakes...

  16. I think the weight of the anchor you would have to throw out the window each time you want to stop will far outweigh the weight saving of the brake pedal...
  17. My avatar is just a pic of a IMSA GTU car from the US belonging to a Brad Frisselle. One heaps of races around the mid to late seventies. I just like any pic of a highly modified zed used for racing; pretty much what I'm building mine to do mainly! I feel you pour so much cash into these things...might as well get your moneys worth in excitement!
  18. Just use those big water pressure sprayers from Bunnings...out of curiousity, how many people play here with Gas/electric/petrol RC cars? Don't mean to hijack but I don't think its worth it's own thread...or is it?
  19. Good to hear about the tie rods. I just mentioned it because I had that issue when I adjusted my lower arms to get 3' of camber on the front wheels. The adjustment on the tie rods was just on the limit of being comfortable. All that's left now is run around the track and feel what it needs!
  20. Beer: Usually any except Fosters! Spirits: Metaxa, JW Mixers: Try not to ruin any drink with Coke! Moonshine: Tsipoothia (I think thats how you pronounce it, can run a car if needed) Water anytime between above!
  21. Hey Sinisha, did that car go to Japan? I still remember seeing that at Calder with the V8... Would've been great to buy that chassis!!
  22. I remember years ago seeing a white 260 2+2 with collapsed suspension springs (must have cut them with an oxy and heated them too much!) Car was at Z factory for a quote on body work? It had a Hemi slant six with a holley.
  23. A thing I did to check speedo accuracy is to setup your GPS to show Km/h and go for a drive! Since mine is in Mp/h and Ive played with everything to do with the speedo eg trans, speedo drive and diff ratio, it's shown mine is out by approx 2-3 mph
  24. I have seen the AZC version but it incorperates a spacer with it. Its not in the pic zedevan (hidden by the tyre). Would the AZC be a good one? Heard it speeds up steering response too.
  25. You must know Superman...you rode on his back to get there that quick! Well done...Looks like an early one; what chassis number is it? What's the plan for it?
