  1. Great job Scoot! they say time is money...and your time just saved you some $, well done mate, I do appreciate no holds barred, high speed action repairs.
  2. John, was the etch still wet or does it have a gloss off the gun? Rev.
  3. Time to bring up the old discussion of a $10.00 paypal joining fee at that rate, any serious Zed person will happily pay $10 for what they value, thoughts/ Rev. P.S thanks for all you did John, more people appreciate your effort than those who may have exploited it.
  4. Well done Scoot that looks great!
  5. Yep! 4 lt will normally do it unless it has multiple layers of paint. Buy some cheap bunnings drop sheets put it under the car and go for it. When you're finished scoop up the plastic and get rid of it! Rev.
  6. Hi, there's no real stupid questions when it comes to reno's. These panels were welded with a mig welder, one of the panels where the hatch sill is I used a replacement panel which I cut sections from to replace. The other pieces I made up myself from metal. I stripped the whole car with paint stripper, I buy one for super cheap in a 4l can it works great. Just make sure you don't let it dry on the metal and it is all thoroughly cleaned down and then prep sol washed before you attempt to put any etch primer on. Hope this helps. Rev.
  7. Nil rust work been done before, so yes really happy with what I've found. Rev.
  8. try www.e-go.com.au they are exceptional.
  9. Just putting it out there that next year I will be available to do small paint and panel jobs! I'll leave the major rust repairs to Lurchos!, when he's finished you can bring it on down and I can assist in panel resprays and small repairs. This is particularly helpful if you're not in the position for a full respray and don't want to drive your Zed around in grey primer! I also have a line on Zed interiors for 240, 260 and 260 2+2 including carpets, this includes all your vinyl for cabin, strut towers, wheels arches, seat upholstery etc available in your choice of colour. Anyone that needs a genuine steering wheel redone or bumper panel beaten and rechromed may also be in luck early 2010. I also have a an associate in the U.S who will be supplying new style bonnet vents for the 260 later model bonnets. http://www.wix.com/revzed/Revs-Zed-Emporium I hope to find more useful price effective Zed gear to help see our Zeds get to the 'finish' line, any suggestions of other commonly needed items would be appreciated. Rev.
  10. Loui, the cold was to keep me going!! and thanks Mick for the encouragement. I'm still fluctuating between 2 colors with my window of opportunity getting smaller to make the choice. I should have all the bodywork dome by Christmas with color in January.
  11. a wood chuck could chuck wood!
  12. NO slowing down...I want to paint after christmas, I hate being Zedless! here's what I did this afternoon.
  13. Great work Simon, this now has your signature on it! I'm looking forward to seeing it mate. Rev.
  14. it's that dang freight company Loui, cheap as chips but everything has to be wrapped in something...go figure! I should try sending something wrapped in newspaper like the old days!
  15. I'm up for the set that you have got pics of. Just have to get a freight price, could you roughly tape some cardboard around them for the freight company? Rev.
  16. A little more progress today. Since I have the guards off I wire brushed everything then treated with Epoxy rust etch, no major rust was found it was pretty clean. What I did find though was a rubber drain pipe that leads from the area under the windscreen wipers (I call it a scuttle panel?) and exits under the front guards, they were clogged with about 2 cups of dirt in each!. It got me thinking though, when they drain rain that water hits the inside of the guard and dribbles down to the bottom where all guards rust out! I'm going to gloss epoxy the inside of my guards so they are completely water proof or attach a fitting to a small tube and have the outlet slightly exiting from the underside of the guards. Also got into the rear hatch latch panel which I should have all fixed up by this time tomorrow!
  17. here's the second set of seats that would suit a recover. and the hurricane wheels and sample of door skins. Rev.
  18. OK here's some of the promised pics. RH 240z Guard, good set of seats, dash cap etc
  19. I hear you, but one of the boys from here had already emailed me on my private email, as you say i had to give it to first in. I'll keep my ears out for another. Rev.
  20. I have some awesome donations for AusZcar, I have a full set of custom made seat retrims and gearshift boot and handbrake boot worth over $400.00. These have been made available to the club through Hayden, a friend of mine who is now producing full interiors for the 240 and 260z both coupe and 2+2, stay tuned for more info!
  21. Just done it twice ;D ;D with someone else wanting a custom REV build and willing to pay for it...only problem is...TIME (now that comes with a high cost!) Rev.
  22. OK I guess I should chime in being that I have recently sold 2 x 2+2's. The value of a 2+2 has risen heaps and i think it is because there are a number of people who want a ZED but don't really want to have to do the work, so they are happy to buy one that is done and they will pay for it. A 2+2 that is RWC and looks the part will sell for 10+K all day long. Rev.
  23. Sorry to all for my lack of response but life went mad! My work sometimes dominates everything else, anyway I will be contacting everyone today who responded for items and then I'll make a list of what's left. Rev.
  24. I'm happy to check anything out as I'm just down the road and know just about every rust prone area on a Zed,let me know. Rev.
