  1. Uhmmm sounds like me Dimitri do you have to pull it out or is that already done? do they have a hoist or something to load it? Thanks, Rev.
  2. Thanks for the advise...It did make a 'whirring' noise but didn't seem to engage the motor, I tried it again and only sparks this time...no noise!
  3. O.K well it's all hooked up I think and when I turn the key there is the roar.....of silence! I'm getting nothing at the starter motor! Now I'm worried that the solonoid on the starter is stuffed...there's power at the solonoid but nothing happening...any clues?
  4. Thanks Zeddophile...I think I get it.
  5. Hi Guys, as the post says I NEED HELP! I've got the motor in and almost everything hooked up but I can't work out the coil. I have been advised to have ignition power go to the ballast resistor and from there to the + on the coil and then ground to - on the coil but I can't find where to take ground from the loom to the(points) Dizzy (if in fact that's how it goes?) Regardless if I have this hooked up right, shouldn't I still be able to crank the motor without the coil hooked up? I've come so far and I wanted to have it at least turning over this weekend....if anyone can help it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rev.
  6. I hear what everyone is saying...I think it's at a salable price however I guess the market will ultimately determine the Value! Us 'enthusiasts' know and understand the 'real time' value of these vehicles however my guess is that our appreciation is not always going to translate to the buyers market...so with that in mind I'll just let it remain for sale for a couple of weeks before I consider any other advertising. I will also offer a motor and carb 'out' price of $8,500 which may suit someone wanting to go the RB route or someone who already has their own motor. Rev.
  7. Sounds like a great idea George!
  8. George it might be a freight forwarding company? this looks a match http://www.shine-usa.com/ Rev.
  9. Hey Johnny...yep almost got the second Zed finished and that will be up for sale shortly...it is looking fantastic...pics to come. The other one I was working on has gone to a mate to try and get him started in the world of Zeds. By the way I thought I would put it out there that I may take a trade in of another Zed as part payment...so that I can bring another one to life! Rev. P.S Thanks also to the guys who have commented how nice the 'RevZed' is, I appreciate...it pumps up your tyres to know that others appreciate your work!
  10. Hi simon ...I knew that question would come! with kids growing up I would like to buy a 2 seater...I'm still not sure I can bring myself to part with it...but it's the only way I'm going to afford anything else. I built it as a 'keeper' so someone will get a bargain! Rev

I am the second owner of this 260 and I have spent an extensive amount of time getting it to where it is. It has had a rebuilt L28 which was hot tanked, new pistons, fully recon head and port matched and this has been coupled with recon triple Mikuni carbs on the latest imported manifold with the strong linkages. it has been converted to a 5 speed manual with a 280ZX box and new clutch slave & master, New brake Master cylinder, new heavy duty alternator, converted to electronic ignition, recored radiator and other goodies I can't remember! The bum has been modified to go with the bumperless look and looks great. The interior is pristine with perfect dash and console, perfect seats, carpet and some aftermarket mods such as console, speaker box and tool box. Really the only thing still to be done is minor dent repair (you can only see it if the light is shining down the vehicle) Price: with Reg and RWC $12,000 Contact Details: Contact Rev on revzed (at) gmail.com or 0 four 0 nine 6 two 0 four 4 three

  13. I'm sure Matt is happy that you are happy...now back to Matt trying to sell a vehicle!
  14. Top effort man, you learn by trying and giving things a go, you could possibly remove the original covers (quite easy to do) and unpick the stitching so that you can get a more accurate pattern or template which will give you a tighter fit. Rev.
  15. what an awesome opportunity to get some of that needed Zed bodywork done with quality workmanship guaranteed! I've also had firsthand experience of lurch's plethora of Zed knowledge that translates to great manual conversions and many other tips & tricks.Don't let your Zed sit in the garage wishing you could get the time to do your repairs and mods take Lurch up on his limited time offer...if there was a 1300 number, I'd plug that too. Seriously I can personally vouch for the great work that Lurch does. Rev.
  16. I've probably got one here once you work out what the problem is! Rev.
  17. Like some of the guys said, you need to get beyond any of the crazed or flawed exisiting painwork. But beyond that, it is my opinion after restoring quite a few older cars that if you want it to last more than 24 months you need to take it back to metal which means going beyond the primer. The reason for this is that if the top coat has cracked it has allowed moisture to penetrate into the what is presently the substrate which is the porous primer coat which then begins to breakdown. By removing this primer coat you now have a substrate that is fresh and can be etched, primed, puttied and topcoated. If you try and fill the cracks with knifing putty they will be back in 6-12 months. Hope this helps. Rev.
  18. Must be a very late model 240 (cough cough) not even 260's were made in 1979...anyway might be good for someone? http://cars.ebay.com.au/Nissan-datsun-240-z-350chev_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ280377627434 Rev.

  22. I've got a right hand 240 guard in average condition in S.E Melbourne $50.00 Rev.
  23. Leon, I think you know after all the advice given which is really the only way to go! These cars are really for resto only, sadly, delaying the process with a quick bog job is false economy because most guys I know that do a temporary fix rarely get around to a proper resto. Perhaps we should put a warning on this site that says 'for every Zed you buy under 10,000 make sure you have another 4-5k to spend to fix it' otherwise you end up with just another 'old car'! whatever you decide I hope you get some enjoyment from your Zed. Rev.
  24. Great to have a fellow 2+2 owner on board, I'm in Narre Warren South, there are a few of us out this way! welcome. Rev.
