  1. Well, today we got the engine all hooked up and turned the key and....after quite a bit of cranking we did get it to start but it ran like a ruptured duck (I never actually seen a ruptured Duck but I'd bet it wouldn't be pretty!) So not sure what the next step is as I have exhausted my knowledge in this area. It could be the triples need some work to be dialled in. Any ideas? Rev.
  2. As the post says...I know it's a long shot but I have a 74 260 2 seater and the drivers glass is severely scratched ...so If you have a decent one I'll pay good money for it. Rev.
  3. I know! but this time I"VE REALLY DONE IT! I've been looking for about 2 hours solid..oh well I'll keep looking!
  4. Hey guys, Putting everything back together and I cant find the lever part that goes from the inside of the door handle to the door lock. It is an l shaped wire that has a nylon bushing that pushes on the lock mechanism. I've obviously put them in a safe place! need L&R side Thanks Rev
  5. Happy Birthday bro, have an awesome day!
  6. forgot to mention glass is in Now to hook up all the electrics, oil in gearbox and quite a few of the fiddly bits and pieces! ETA 2-3 weeks! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  7. Yep, Johnny is correct, they're Speedhut gauges from the States. Easy to order and the customer service is very good. I had one gauge face that didn't work properly and they replaced it very quickly. My son Benji did the install which he said was quite easy. They are available in a number of backlit colors I got the blue which i thought would allow me to see my gauge needle pretty well at night. Be happy to show you when they are all running. Rev.
  8. Thanks Hunter, although the color is a little deceptive as in the right light is way more orange than yellow. Rev.
  9. Yeah Lurchos, haven't got there yet! I polished the lenses with a plastic polish, came out OK. Probably need to re plastichrome the surrounds. Rev.
  10. Gearbox mount installed, drive shaft hooked up, rear light garnishes repainted, lenses polished - NUMBER PLATE ON!
  11. Thanks man, yep that it, I ended up finding one on my old auto box. Thanks for the reply. Rev.
  12. Hi guys I just went to attach my gearbox mount/cross member thingo and realised that the 280zx box doesn't have anything for the centre hole of the cross member to bolt into. Shouldn't there be some king of 'soft mount' attached to the gearbox? If so, does any one have one as I need it ASAP! Rev
  13. I think it's not so much cost as it is time, someone last week told me that he is booked out till next year....
  14. Yep, this one's a keeper. Saying that I guess if interest rates get back to where they were I might be in strife!!
  15. Yep, they're fixed. Tried to call you!
  16. Thanks Gareth, I might have to get a few hints on where you ran your fuel lines...off the existing rail or did you run new lines. Also do the Dellorto's have to have a fuel return? Rev.
  17. I think it's more the camera angle.
  18. O.K one more hurdle jumped with the help of my Big sons who are probably more knowledgeable than me now! So engine is in, now to begin to hook everything up and probably call Scoot for some \help to dial in the Dellorto's! Rev.
  19. I've been using this brand of wheel for years and I can get them for half that asking price! Rev.
  20. Got the dash in the other day and seats properly mounted, hatch hardware on...now for the last bit of interior tomorrow and motor next week! Rev. P.s did I tell you that I'm over it!
  21. any club, organisation, body, group, association, team etc will have their own DNA which others may find hard to accept and embrace. I have to agree that boycotts, whining, and tearing down ultimately is the greatest waste of opportunity, whereas constructive criticism (feedback) and a willingness to 'roll up your sleeves' and be part of a solution based outcome will win every time. Rev.
  22. I can guarantee that it was all good when I had it. The tailshaft had actually been inspected when all the engine work was done. Rev.
  23. Hi Rob the seats were easy! I had to drill an extra hold in the seat base for the rails but that was about it - I may have to do a little bit of filing in the seat mounting brackets in the car but it's the easiest after market fit i've done. Rev.
