  1. Actually just noticed this Fridays date is also up on the site
  2. Put me down for this, I'm a definite starter, is there any forms that need to be filled out for pre reg or something?? Funny thing is I was just talking yesterday to the guy that's gonna rebuild the bottom end and he was telling me that Winton does it every Friday. I know it's a bit of a hike out their but seeing as people will be taking leave over the summer period what do you fellas say we look into it one Friday night??
  3. Dude, buy the SR20, put it aside and even if you don't get the job you have a cheap motor just save the rest over time Do it, Do it
  4. Powere steer and air con, this'll be a nice one for the ladies out their
  5. A T28 running 5-6 psi should be fairly docile, it will give you some good axtra overtaking power but not too much more, they're good for up to 2 litre cars, you shouldn't have too much drama as the volume won't be as high as a T3 or bigger. At the very least it will be a good learning experience as you can start it off on usable low boost and then wind it up to see where the carbs/gaskets let go. Also I hope you'll be running an electronic dizzy as well as getting the carbs re-jetted for the extra air up high in the revs, it shouldn't need much but to be on the safe side you'd want to be testing it all on a dyno before you go out on the road and melt a piston or 6. The guy that was selling the supercharged Z on ebay recently was running a toyota side mount supercharger through twin carbs.
  6. Dude you're asking the wrong person about sizes and fitment LOL, I'm not a wheel person but yes they are the Rota wheels, at a guess I think you'd definitely get the 8's under their without flares but you may have to lip the edges up though. Check out the thread on HybridZ (WARNING: IT'S A BIIIIIIIIG THREAD) some of the guys their were asking similar questions so you may well get your answer their.
  7. Awwww bless your little beating heart
  8. Gee Lurch if I'd known I would have spent more time with you today
  9. Hammer it's been over a year and a half since I first bought the car, but most of that time it was stored elsewhere so I wasn't able to spend much time on it. The wheels are 9.5x17 rear and 8.5x17 front, they are the ones on the HybridZ forum group buy and are still available best of all they come powder coated not raw. Thanks George, ye I was kinda going for a Z432R kind of thing crossed over with the ZG flares so I guess it's a ZG-231-R LOL.
  10. Ye it was a pretty good day. Loved the shed Can't wait to see the vid as we're all taking off out the driveway.
  11. Well I finally got my ITG filter yesterday and installed it that arvo, thing is though it didn't look right so I decided to have a little try of something, I think it finishes it off nicely now I just need some red leads and an aluminium radiator I decided to do the rocker cover to match, alos someone on another forum mentioned a red and black theme thing I was going for, thing is I wasn't but thought I might give it a try. What do you think?? Then as I was waiting for the paint to harden I thought I might go for some finer detail
  12. Hey dazzed and zedman240 is the car in your avatars the same car but on different angles??
  13. I second that, maybe a nice lower control arm set for all 4 corners
  14. Not an NDSOC member
  15. Nice but boring, where are all the flared modified cars??
  16. Just read the article, thanks CDR, just wondering if anyone has tried the iridiums and if so how they found them, I'm going to replace with a set of 5's later and might just buy a set of 4's to try out as well, in the regular plugs of course not that rich LOL.
  17. Ye I'm running the 6ES-11's but I'm thinking of trying a hotter plug as they keep fouling up.
  18. Ye Sulio it starts to taper off around 5 so I don't really push it much beyond that, no point. Lurch, ricey?? you loved it, you should drive it now it has 350rwkw, actually you can't coz the motor's out but once it's back should be in 400+ so might be ALOT more fun then. Paul, not as yet but will do soon enough, no need really just turn the Konis right up it still rubs a little but not much really. To all others thanks for your comments, I went for a bit of a Z432R with the bonnet and front spoiler meets ZG flares and rear hatch wing, although I actually mentioned to Sulio after seeing Lous white one I may just respray it..............Black
  19. Also found out that the head has had some porting work done so possibly bigger valves but for some reason it's got a standard cam, oh well now I have to take the head off and see what pistons she's got, I think you know what I'm hoping to find. Worst thing about it though is that it's an absolute pig under 2500rpm, if you don't give it around 1200-1500 for even a light launch she just bogs right down.
  20. Only took a little over a year LOL Anyway first fuel fill pic, this is pre wheels and flares obviously Then the rear spoiler, this was Friday night so the sikaflex could cure The wheels waiting for wheel nuts, this was this morning the wheels on without flares this afternoon then the flares finally finshed them off about 7:30 tonight, didn't take long actually went and bought a nutsert gun set and it was actually easier than I thought This was tonight at a mates shop just having a look underneath
  21. That's right and that's a piece of Australina history, a Z isn't to most, why do people, yourself obviously included, think that they have to pay market price. The guy has asked for an offer he hasn't put down a price so why offer him close to your top dollar, it seems that many on here don't know very much about buying but you all know quite alot about price speculation. It amazes me how so many cry about the prices but when you have the chance to get something for a reasonable price you automatically go to an average market value rather than try your luck. And yes it is 2008 but we are also at the beginning of bad times financially, he may need the money so would take most any offer, on the flip side the buyer might be ok today but what about tomorrow. Also with regard to current pricing you may want to take a good look at where pricing is at the moment, many have dropped by close to half since the downturn in particular, but mostly because people are realising the car market was a little over inflated so prices are starting to normalize back to a more realistic level. Many GT HO and Bathurst Monaro owners that bought the $500k+ and $350K+ respectively cars that are now worth around 30% less would now be telling you to be careful and not over estimate potential value.
  22. Are you kidding me?? Or are you his grandson hoping to get a bigger inheritance hahaha Mate it shits me to tears at the moment how many people are trying to cash in on cars they previously would have had to pay someone to remove from there property. There is a guy on ebay trying to sell an XB coupe pile of rust for a few grand, as I said trying as it's been on their for a few months and not one bid that I have ever seen, the best one I ever saw was a left quarter section from an early Monaro that couldn't be used it was that rusty but he was asking $5000 for it. This car has sat their most likely because he might have needed parts from it at some stage for his tractor, if people were serious about getting good dollars for there old cars they would have garaged them long ago and kept them as rust free as possible. Just offer him $500 tell him that you might turn it into a demo derby or dirt rally car and that's why you don't want to spend too much money.
  23. If you want to know whether he actually has no idea or is just waiting for some tool to come along and offer him some silly money offer him $500 and see what he says, if he goes on about it being classic then start working out costs of repair. No matter where you start you will eventually find the price he is after just don't come across too eager.
  24. Alan please don't think that I am having a go at you personally, I'm simply saying that I would rather see the club as a stand alone, that doesn't mean that other clubs can't be involved in events simply that the interests would be best served in that fashion. I have only ever had one experience with the NDSOC myself however that was outside of club related issues, in a past life (wedding photographer) I happened across your Southbank display and was kindly given permission to use a roadster for some shots. This was about 10 years ago but would assume that things have changed from what others have said, so my own personal experience with them wasn't bad but I have never had anything to do with them on a club/car level.
  25. Joining in is one thing but the whole point of most clubs is to increase awareness of whatever it is they are gathering for to do, whether that be cars or war re creations, it seems as though unless you're willing to pay for the priveladge you're not really invited to find out about the club. I don't see why you would be unwilling to get as many cars at events as possible to show the strength of the overall movement, no one is asking to be considered for club trophies or anything but even if the different clubs had there own areas at events to show the varied cars and associated clubs that go with it. This I think is the problem is that if you allow too many "other" clubs in then you decrease your chance of gaining members by possibly losing them to the "other" clubs, this is the kind of mentality that pushes prospective members away. With what was said in the initial post, all that the secretary had to do was simply to say "Come over and have a chat later if you like" that would have broken the ice and they would have had at least one friendly face to approach should they have chosen to do so. When someone asks then walks away as soon as they don't get the answer they want then that pretty much says "STAY AWAY". From what you yourself are also saying about this person I think it may well be time to find someone else to do it, someone with a more open and friendly approach to potential newbies within your fold.
