  2. picked up a new xbox 360 yesterday . need to hot it up and back to forza2 i go and hopefully on live. most prob sometime mid next week. another game thats creating a big buzz is GRID. havent played it yet but ppl that i know said its briliant. cant wait for the update now
  3. Well thezgarage is trying to orginise a z zx meet mid november dates to still be determined. most probable location is near the city. will keep posted. we need to get more cars. at the moment only 2 :'(
  4. yep theres few.any car as long as u love z and zx . we are planing one on for mid november. ill let you know
  5. got mine. did any one notice that its a bit thinner than the first issue. got bit but than noticed it has same amount of pages. just they lot thinner than issue 1. still looking through it. not bad at all.
  6. nice probably bit closer to the 240z than the 350z was. i didnt like the side look of the 350. this is nicer but paying 80k for one hmmmmmmm nope. than again i would never sign on a dotted line for any brand new car. its a guarantee u loosing 20% of ur hard earned cash as soon as u sign it. so let some other poor sucker do that and buy it of him for 20-30% after 1 yr with 20,000km when they get sick of it. what the price for 350z these days ive seen as low as 30K for a 05 model hmm 50k loss in 3 years nice.
  7. Rev check your PM
  8. thats nuts. off to enrol in alloy metal fabrication and advanced alloy welding classes.
  9. Erm had a chat with one of my mates thats building a 260z 2+2 last nite . looks like he be parting with it soon. and has lot of goodies.his power steering setup could be for sale individualy if he cant get the money for the complete shell with power steering and big brakes. so keep an eye out on the classifieds.
  10. in Adelaide i use Fitch the Rubber Man. pretty much has everything including the inner door trim windows seals etc... but they are smallish business and dont have interstate franchise, which doesnt help you. other than that i guess try yellow pages for rubber specialist. I used same stuff that u after on the inside of the bonnet edge to finish off the hood heat shield.
  11. not sure where u from but some national stores like: coventry fasteners should have stainless steel ones for you. chrome u got to get them done your self to normal bolts through chrome plating place. stainless is lot better and more robust. chrome does chip and rust eventualy. as for rubber i guess Clark rubber (are nation wide i think). they should have it but go to a larger outlet for bigger selection.
  12. LOL few people missed the point but anyways i dont think Rev or myself were trying to tick anyone off. All i can say that for "backyarders" (hate that term) like Rev and myself and quite a few members out here are fairly proud of the work we do and im sure we will put lot of so called "proffesionals" to shame. but i guess ill just drop it now Sorry if someone got crossed wasnt intentional. now to the cars. BRING THEM ON MORE Z PLEASE!
  13. I agree with Rev. Sorry for the guys with the dosh. Some/most of us are not that fortunate. Thats what i miss in the old car magizines. Cars that owners build and spilled blood over. Not some Marketing exercise done by a workshop and some rich kid buying it afterwards. To me half the fun owning a car u like is to work on it and improve to your liking.
  14. will send details today to you Gav.
  15. that was quick congratulations on the buy. as for steering hmmmm power steering does wonders.
  16. yay another guy thats not afraid to do a conversion. so what are the plans? like some here I as well dont venture much to hybridz unless someone points something out.
  17. yeah acrylic is lot easier to work with but more work involved. hence crash repairers won't use it. cut down heaps of time in detailed polishing which you dont have to do on 2pk. i used acrylic on most things. some advantages of it other than whar Rev stated: 1. can spray it so no orange peel. 2. if quality brand used it will outshine 2pk. 3. lot easier to blend if repair is needed. 4. bit more flexible than 2pk so less prone to stone chips. disadvantages: 1.if not taken care of it will deteriate quickly. needs polishing regularly to keep the shine expcialy if used as a daily. 2.not as durable as 2pk. ie bird dropings and tree sap will stuff acrylic lot easier. 3 takes lot of time and care to get perfect results. also hard to get the nice shine in difficult places. i did use acrylic but since used 2pk i wouldnt go back. but need better and more expensive equipment ie expensive filter mask. but u can buy good modiefied acrylic 2pk clear these days. so not as deadly as 2pk but with same results. most metalic and pearl paints is clear over base.some a 3 layer pearls as well. base colours dont require clear but they will be the 2pk sort. but u can buy a non 2pk paint base and still have 2pk clear on top.
  18. Also RB20det boxes are similar to s13 and s14.. though s13 and s14 the stick position is further back by 2.5cm roughly. as for cv shafts. i got it done to my 260z. though running a R200 LSD the diff came with turbo CV driveshafts which came from R31 skyline jap import 2door. turbo shafts and cvs are bigger than non turbo. Z31 turbo and R31 turbo share the same diff and driveshaft setup. the short version of things i done: picked up a local Z31 turbo rear hubs and controll arms. machined the 260z hubs slightly to accomodate metric bearings. Installed the Z31 half shafts into S30 hub with appropriate bearings Driveshafts race has been swapped in reverse also the circlip slots have been machined further down by 10mm.(i think) this overall shortend both driveshaft by appropriate amount. than just bolted all together like it was made in factory. also this made rear 5stud to match the front and used Z31 turbo rear disks and calipers. all pretty much bolted up. i got more detailed write up somewhere on this forum and on www.thezgarage.com been abusing it for last 7 months and still no breakages with rough driving and 200kw+ turbo engine in front of it.
  19. cheers but only two of them are in drivable state. the others are awaiting their turn for nip and tuck and heart transplants. now kinda suffering fixing a 1993 and 2003 cars. but soon as they out of the way going back to my old school stuff. so at the moment im enjoying reading other ppls fun with their their cars and preparing the master plan for mine. luckily occasionaly get time to work on the 260z to finish some stuff i didnt get around to. looking forwad to next set of pics on your project. keep it up.
  20. my xbox died. what else is new from microtoss GRRRRRRRRRRR but in process of getting a new one. its good when it works and games are cheap pitty the hardware design was done by chimpz and has lot of flaws. but they fixed most of them with the latest consoles. lets hope
  21. u can still get new front bar from nissan $550 i think. Rechrome and reshape is varied. got quotes for mine rechrome $200 and dents taken out $400. but ended up finding a mob that did straightening and rechrome for $425. did a good job considering what condition bar was in first place. but if u want no holes i guess the ebay one aint too bad of a deal.
  22. Nice work . like the rear cradle mod. have you got any close ups of the rear cradle mounting to the body. also front xmember with the power steer mod. cant wait for the update.
