XRQTR, the capacity of the V8s are too large for conversion laws now, you might get away with a 302 Clevo or 308 Chev, but I dont think so. Would be awsome to have the 427 in there though Putting a 302 on gas in my Troopie next year.

Yeh thats what i meant, but i agree, why put a less flowing head onto it? Definately pretty original though. So that would mean the L20 was a 6 cylinder? I didnt know that till this thread. Learn something everyday.

haha, yeh fair call there was and to a small degree still is a lot of stuffing around, I didnt realise you could put the L28 top end on an L20. Well if you decide to put an R33 turbo on, send me a PM

Why an L20? there has to be a better engine, infact I can think of about 10 off hand, but I guess its kinda original? To quote Pauline Hanson: "Please explain"?
  8. Arent these cable driven? I dont really know cos i had to replace mine with digital, but havent removed the old one.
  9. Sweet as, my olds couldnt afford to get me into that sort of stuff, but im trying to make up for it now What have you got in mind?

  11. Myslef and a friend dropped a 1UZ V8 engine the other day whilst trying to get it off a trailer without using a hoist. Lucky it wasnt far and we had a spare sump for it...
  12. I reckon karts are a good way to get inot racing as you see a lot of the top drivers started here. But zeds are way cool, what were you thinking of doing to her? A friend and i just happened across a ex race kart frame for free which we are planning to put a friends CBR600 (written off) engine into for a bit of fun, wait, no, a lot of fun . But its not going to cost much so its easy.
  13. Thats a really nice car mate.
  14. Not bad at all, i might even have a look for something like that for both datto and troopie.
  15. I use www.photobucket.com Its great as once the photos are uploaded, you just click on the url and it automatically copies, then you just paste on the thread. It also has an image code link that when clicked on auto copies then you paste it in the thread and the image or a smaller version is put onto your post, but the forum website doesnt actually host it, so there is no size limits. eg So that pic is being hosted by photobucket and not this website. The actual link for it is http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w45/sco_aus/0407002.jpg Hope that helps. PS, that R31 is for sale if anyone is interested
  16. A friend of mine used 12V computer fans attached to the ducts, but im not sure about the heating side of things.
  17. Nice, 2 ways are fun. Which coilover setup and shocks are you going with?
  18. Disconnect the dizzy cap, Then take the spark plug out of cyl 1 and crank the engine for a few seconds with the compression tester end pushed (you hold it in) into the spark plug hole. Write down the compression reading, replace the spark plug and repeat for all other cylinders. If you have one reading very low compared to the others, then there is a problem. This is how we did it on my RB not long ago (doesnt have dizzy, but just disconected the coils) with a mate who is a mechanic.
  19. Camry...
  20. Boooo Ford!!!!! jk I really like that front bar, its different, yet not stupid.
  21. there are zeds on all the gran turismos.
  22. If anyone is looking at doing this, this is the sump needed. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Z31-RB20-OIL-PAN-240Z-260Z_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38657QQitemZ230102556752QQrdZ1
  23. Easter long weekend and at Phillip Island. You better be there Tony, I wanna see this beast you told me so much about.
  24. Yeh I already have a solid front diff mount and full bushing all round I already know how to launch it, just didnt trust it before. Especially after playing with the UJ shafts when pulling the rear suspenion out and it had really bad play in the joints and they looked really bad (i dont actually do many hard launches either).
  25. It should have fine scratch marks that are in a criss, cross, up and down fashion like the letter X all around the bore. Does your engine use much oil?
