  1. Yeh, sweet, got a couple of mates with 86s, they cant wait to see what it can do. I see this as being the best market to go for right now in performance, with drifting becoming such a popular motorsport now, small rear wheel drives with power are the way to go. And there doesnt seem to be many on the market at the moment.
  2. Its definately a thought. I could ask him for a reference to the site in the article to appear in the mag for it. Ill see what he says.
  3. You could go totally different and put a 1UZ or 2UZ in, they are awsome engine, easy to get power and torque out of, really light engines and very strong.
  4. Ok, just updating, I spoke to the guy i sent the pics to, unfortunately the guy doing the article walked out and left them dry and they are playing catch up. He hasnt ruled out the article, but it has been postponed indefinately. I will let you know when i know something.
  5. on this topic, I havent been able to find any for either 1600 or zed, but im still looking. I found someone with 1600 tail lights, but they are jap spec and i believe you have to change the rear panel to put them in.
  6. I didnt even know it existed, i use whereis all the time, i am converted now
  7. I would just need the gears, it would be cheaper freight that way. I didnt realise the S13s used the longnose R200, either way, it sounds a lot cheaper from the states. As for the 1600, I have a friend who knows lots of people with other (non zed) datsuns. Ill see what i can do.
  8. Do you have oil leaks? I found on my cruiser that i couldnt actually tell i was losing fluid cos it mixed with the oil. i do realise it isnt a Landcruiser, but just a thought anyway
  9. Hell yeh ill go used, im not sure if you mean S13 200sx(silvia)? i cant remember what years they were made. But im willing to pay that much less for a used, as long as the teeth are in good condition. So it would be the crown and the pinion gear, thanks heaps for your help buddy. Ill see if i can find you some tail lights. Do they have to be 240Z tail lights, or would you take 260Z (2 seater) tail lights?
  10. Didnt think it would take long to get enough people in I even told a mate about it and he said if someone pulls out, he will fill the spot
  11. Hell yeh, i have driven for a living for 6 years, its only a short drive to me Id even offer my car to drive, i can probly push it to be ready in time.
  12. Im so in. Dont care what car im in. Thats pretty damn good.
  13. yeh more details please... is there a web site? id be tempted to enter my own car if i could get it ready in time.

    new guy.

A lot. You can see it all on my cardomain link on my signature, but the actuall mounting process? Well in Japan they released a Z31(first 300zx) with an RB20DET, this was called the 200ZR. The engine mounts, sump and pick up from this car all bolt an RB straight into the all model Zs (i have 260Z by the way). The gearbox will need a custom mount but it shouldnt cost too much, the best bit is that the gear shifter will come straight into the original hole. Everything else on my car is custom, so you could do the same, or retro fit other parts from skylines etc. If you are tossing up between RB20 and 25, bang for buck would be 25. SR20 is a better way to go for 2ltr engines (more torque and lighter engine). this is my zed http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2524481

    new guy.

RBs are the easier conversion, but RB26 is not very affordable. I would suggest RB25, cheaper and still easy to get power out of. There is a fair bit of info on this topic on this forum. Do a search and you should find plenty on it. I dont know much about SR conversions, but i know the RB is easier.
  16. Well it may be a small cost, but in Australia they cost $1200AUD (about $900USD) or so for the 2 gears and that is the biggest load of crap to me, so if you can get me a really good price, it would be very much appreciated.
  17. Yeh it would be rolling diameter(over all diameter) that is the measured size, so as long as it is within an inch of the original rolling diameter, then it is fine. i believe an inch is the same for width, but i am only going off of NSW and ACT laws here, though they seem to be the same for most states in this regard.
  18. Welcome, sounds like a nice car with a bit of history. If you check the Australian version of ebay, there is quite often sets of the amber lense tail lights going, if you are having difficulty finding them from someone here. Also, I dont supose you have another 4.1 diff gear set there? I have a 3.7, but its not enough for me.
  19. Was it just me, or was there no sound at all in the movie? I had my volume right up and couldnt here anything. Anyway, ill go through it later and find the good scenes.
  20. I dont think either would, the offset on the first ones were too positive and I believe the stud pattern was different on the second ones. But I know the four stud corolla ones from that era were the same, so maybe... I wouldnt risk it unless you could fint out exactly though.
  21. Damn, im halfway through and find its not titled. So where can we get the subtitled version?
  22. hahahaha yeh sounds it. Mines got a little bit of stubble in the middle and bare on the sides. Really gotta do something with the rear though.
  23. haha, i think im in the same boat as George here Any carpet in your middle bits?
  24. hahahahaha, nice
