  1. Well here it is, anyone that says that you can't use an R33 centre with a longnose hasn't tried hard enough. I finally got to drive my car after months of waiting for the suspension to be finally finished. We took the diff (whilst the struts were being assembled) to Southern diffs in Canberra and they got the stock stub axles to work with the Cusco 2 way. The acceleration difference between it is just awsome, it squats and shoots out of corners due to not having the inside wheel spinning due to power. As for the suspension, holy crap, it outhandles my friends 200kg lighter Toyota sprinter which is set up for racing. But i will explain what happened there in the next few weeks. Now for the CV conversion.
  2. Hope he goes to gaol. Maybe the car will get auctioned off.
  3. All the guys i know that weld started by buying a welder and getting scrap metal and practicing. They are all awsome welders now. Of course they did courses later.
  4. Nice one Gav, cleared a few things for me. Also was just looking at the suspension link, you said you think there is a difference with the 2+2 suspension, well part I can tell you is that the 2+2 Macpherson strut is taller than the 2 seater, however they are the same diameter. Also I believe the strut is a bit stronger? Not 100% on either, but pretty damn sure on the length thing.

Cool, start getting fit, cos they both take a lot of fitness and patience. Good choice though.
  9. Well I got OHM kart boots for $74, Sabelt suede gloves for $62 and the suede sparco wheel for $204 all AUD. I found the same steering wheel in oz for $339AUD, gloves are mostly over $100 and kart boots for mostly over $150. I'm still not sure how much the postage ended up costing me, but i got all of them a couple of weeks ago and they all work and fit like a dream. So think twice before buying in oz, just make sure you get the right sizes

NOOO, don't do it Just joking. What are joining into?
  12. Yeh I did the computer reset, nothing. I was looking on Skylines Australia and a lot of people get a missfire when they are accelerating due to the seam on the rubber on the coils splitting and the spark jumps to the head, so maybe mine has gotten bad. I ordered some splitfire coils anyway for reliability so heres hoping, but most mechanics i talk to reckon its in the ignition side of things. The camber tops get full adjustment and easily. It wouldnt surprise me if they are copys, T3 claim they make them themselves though, but good none the less.
  13. Just one thing, has anyone else had the top flat section where the seat belt bolts into the top of the strut tower held in by about 6 small screws? We ended up tig welding it so its strong as, but it might be worth while people having a look, cos it wont hold in an accident.
  14. Well after all this I have learnt a great lesson, don't rush and talk to your suspension guy first. All the equipment is available in oz to work except for the adjustable camber tops which I got from T3 in the states. Unfortunately these have to be welded in therefore you loose the top bolts that the strut brace would bolt to. Also, we weighed the car in all for corners at once to see what the best spring rates were for the car and are nothing like what I ordered from the states, so now I will be running dual stage Eibach springs. So here is what has ended up happening. Note the new strut brace.
  15. Took some pics of the cut and shut last week. I'm currently running stock computer, but have a power FC being tuned at the end of the month. P.S Yes that used to be the cross over pipe coming off the manifold (could keep the stock BOV flange).

Yeh I am moving to Canberra at the end of the year when im out of the army. Am hoping to make a trip down for it though. Also, my entry into the Dutton rally in September has been sent, so hopefully accepted and be flyin around in no time.
  17. Hey Sulio, wanna swap cars Come on its got an RB
  18. Suspension for sure. I think I have gone through about 3 different suspension setups in the last 4 years and there really is no substitute for a decent setup. Had king springs at first, but with exhaust from the RB and trying to get it RWC was too low, so Pedders came in with some Konis and raising springs (rediculous handling), now udjustable height coilovers.
  19. I was in west Sydney at friends place who's dad had a Z31, I was interested in them, so he took me to a Zed parts place to learn about em, and there in a thin layer of dust was my baby.
  20. Yeh, sorry, i wouldnt be back till around 3pm and only have the pulsar.
  21. That is one mighty fine lookin zed right there. I like the disc brakes there too, nice touch.
  22. Only just spotted this thread. I'm in, get the site some exposure and hopefully more members.
