  1. I may have actually found some MX5 racks for $195 not including shipping (neither were the other ones) each today. I just have to confirm they are from the 1.6L NA model. Im seriously considering doing this whilst i have the engine out of the bay. Just really need to know how the column attaches to the rack. Is anyone else interested? Who knows, maybe we can get them cheaper as a group buy.
  2. Awsome!! More RB zeds. Im guessing you already know about the easy engine mounts and sump?
  3. ok then, havent seen one out of a car before.
  4. haha, nice. Is that VQ45 or 1UZ? or maybe something else...
  5. Holy mother of crap, that is fricken awsome. What engine is that? Totally awsome though mate.
  6. Yeh I know, good stuff. But sooley, do you know how the steering column connects to the MX5 rack? Its the only thing I need to know.
  7. Ok, well I have done a bit of looking around. I have found a place called www.mx5mania.com.au . I emailed them and they can supply a power steering rack from a NA model 1.6L MX5 for $250. N13 Tie rod ends are about $15 each from repco. I would be using a RB25 power steering pump which I could probably get for about $150. But there is something Im not sure about, how does the steering column go when connecting to the rack?
  8. My RB is a 94 and it has it, as far as I know they all did. The R32 RB25's were only non turbo, but im pretty sure they still had it. The lifters in the Neo were 9mm or so compared to 8.5 in earlier. There are a few other differences too, but the turbo is good turbo from them, much more responsive.
  9. Or like me just buy cars all with the same 4 stud pattern Makes life really easy
  10. I have an awsome pdf file on my computer that describes what is needed and how to do it. If anyone wants it send me your email address as it is too big to post on this forum. I would have linked it, but the guy got rid of his link from his signature on Skylines oz.

    Coilovers

To combat that, we put in these little retaining springs, they fully compress when driving until all of the load is off the main spring, then they push the main spring up to keep it seated. Also apart from the spring rate not being the best for my car, it was a great mod because not only is it really easy to change springrates, its also handy for height adjustment and a big one was wheel clearance.
  12. you should buy that zed, thats yet another awsome car. I want it. Damn i gotta finish my car.
  13. Hi Tony. I bought the 240 front bumper from you a while back. I didnt realise you had done that much to it, but that sounds awsome. Yeh are you coming to the nats?
  14. ^ | | What he said :D Awsome description mate.
  15. And we appreciate it muchly guys. Turbos also help to dull the noise
  16. Jeez, not hard to please or anything
  17. Hehehe, wouldn't be a Z without the noise. There is plenty of room for lowering there, Im running my car at about 8 cm (ground to lowest point) and still have the ability to go lower, but 10cm is the lowest for rego.
  18. Do you get a better lock with it? I dont really understand the steering side of things.
  19. Another thing to note with the RCAs is that you will need to wear 16's at least. I swapped my rims from my datto to my R31 and vica versa and we could only rest the datto on the 15's but wheel it with the jack or swap back. Hope that makes sense but 16 inch wheels is the main point. Also I used to have a 240k box on my L28 (blue_leaf has it all now). It wasnt the best for highway, but it made a difference with the shorter gears.
  20. So you mean a pounder??? Are we still talking about burgers??? Speaking of alloy radiators, I should be getting a 4 core made up by a guy i know who is a master at alloy welding PWR cores soon. Those fibreglass dashes might make a small difference as long as they are the right price. Might be cheaper for a salad diet.
  21. Keep an eye out on ebay for tie rod ends, i got some brand new not long ago for $60 and the same guy regularly has them for auction. The front do have bearings and they are pretty cheap from Repco or Autopro. They have to be pressed in though, but most places will do it for a few bucks cash if you just take the hub into them.
  22. Really clean mate. I thought it was my car at first, exact same colour but yours is cleaner. Bump steer can be done a couple of ways. You can go power steering which isnt too expensive really: http://www.viczcar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1050&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 or http://www.technotoytuning.com/productdetail.php?p=599 The roll centre adjusters keep the car at the same height, but lowers the control arm. I just put these exact ones on my car and it took 5 mins, so easy to do.
  23. Depends on if its fat like me or muscle. If its fat you WIN!!!!! Your prize, another beer and a big mac Joking
  24. Man you guys make me feel fat. Im 103kg. Im twice the weight of the missus though :D Then again I am fat The bloke I bought my Simmons from on the Westsieed had taken out the boot metal or something because there wasnt a boot, just the shape of the bottom of the car. Had a few strengthening things in there but the main one was the crazy cage.
  25. Tempting, but thats a lot of money and stuffing around, plus more custom mods. Just put in roll centre adjusters so hopefully they will get rid of the problem.
