  1. what are the overrider strips? i thought you must have been talking about the tusks, but as u've said as pictured i'm now thinking the rubber bits? if so i'd be interested in atleast knowing the price - matt has used some generic stuff from clack rubber which looks alright (specially for the price) but the end treatment isn't that great, as has been trimmed with a knife how's the vb items fit? also dont be so negative i'm enjoying reading all your good ideas, and fresh ways of looking at things
  2. no worries, fwiw there was an american company doing t-top conversions to s30's but apparently their glass all shattered and they went bankrupt, the cars looked pretty cool though!
  3. I went along with a couple of mates around 2pm, and while i didn't see anyone from the club i did see the cars, looked great! is technoz's anyone on here? my only disapointment was the lack of atleast one of each GTR, particually r35, and was surprised by the lack of any 350z's
  4. i assume u mean 280zx as a 280z in australia is rare enough, yet alone a t-top one!?!
  5. i own one in the factory colour #240 which is a BRG type colour - look in the gallery. if i were to respray it i'm not sure if i'd go for the factory colour or a newer dark green off a bmw, such as that on the new mini's. as in some light conditions i did not really like the factory colour, but in others it was awesome. the green of Nzeders car looks quite cool, and from memory he is going from his car being the same colour as mine... i love the lime yellow colour, just set a picture of the lambo miura concept as your background and i'm sure u'll fall in love with it http://picasaweb.google.com/srcartermd is a very nice stock lime yellow 240z in america goodluck deciding, red's very common with 240z's...and i'm saving owning a red car till i have a ferrari, lol
  6. that sounds awesome!
  7. are you going to loose access to bittorrent?
  8. i have a set i'm not currently using but was planning to...although i could always be convinced to get a carbon set instead
  9. I'd say i'm good at solidworks (dont really do much analysis in it though, more surfacing for injection moulding parts, and sheetmetal bits), photoshop and illustrator. And can use 3dsmax (vray), proE and NX alright, and play around with Flash/Dreamweaver, premiere/aftereffects but not a whole lot I'm a product design engineer, so am generally using one or more of these apps every hour at work...yep, professional cad monkey

    SU Carbs

thanks for that gav, they are 1 3/4" - what are 240z ones? are british SU's generally worth more than Hitachi's?
  11. the holes allow the bar to flex in areas which aren't undergoing the maximum load, and by doing so reduces the force at the maximum points a part we were doing fea on at work was "stronger" when made from 3mm plate than 5mm plate when the designs were identical - but once holes are put in the correct locations in the 5mm plate to allowed it to flex and spread the load, it was ofcourse stronger ...and stevo turn down the deformation scale so it doesn't look so crazy lol
  12. alternatively you could always do a rough model estimation of the AZC mustache bar, and see what force it fails at to use as your benchmark? i'm a cad monkey, jump onto solidworks sometime and watch a few tut's on it on youtube and u should go fine. its only downfall is it craps itself to easily...yet sadly its still my prefered program

    But which sort?
  15. search around on classiczcars as there are a few pages of the brochure scanned in on that, if you have no luck get in contact with allan (hls30-h?) apparently the brosures come up for sale every now and again on ebay, but are getting expensive
  16. in japan there was an option for 14x8 and 14x10 i've never read anything that said it had to be availible in australia... if you search 'sports options' on classiczcars you should be able to dig up some info, atm i only know where my copy is at work, this is the best i can find on this computer
  17. it definately does on the dash! lol and i agree that most people probably couldn't tell them apart - but who cares about those people!...they're the ones that think a jazz or civic is a sports car...
  18. successfully got 2 tickets! i wasn't really expecting to, and had given up any hope, only to find an email this morning at work should be a good day
  19. the issue is though that for the same price u could prob buy an s15...and the only thing i can think of that this has over one of them is it isn't common, and doesn't have any stereo typical image associated with it. however when it looks nice like that blue one it probably isn't far off!
  20. i haven't gone water skiing in ages, and would love to give wakeboarding a go, my younger cousins are now my size and have a good boat for it so might try to tag along there! my brother also recently bought a hobbie catermaran and one of... my plan this summer is to get into kite surfing - my bro also has the gear, i've only previously used it on the beach though as it was to cold to get in the water, and before that he didn't have all the stuff or the know how and then in winter there's snowboarding which i'd love to waste more money on...
  21. yeah the blue one isn't a 200zr, but looks the part... for me, these cars definately fall more into the '240z replacement' category than a 'daily driver' category - even though i'm sure they could be ok at it when fixed up correctly! insurance also isn't that much nicer than newer imports just thought i'd spread the love, and see how much love was out there! if the following pics aren't dam sexy, i dont know what is!
  22. a 180sx with a 240z front would also be tempting...but once again i dont think the 'local importer' would really enjoy trying to chase one down...
  23. I'm sure many of us would have come across pictures of this car before [ http://www.ziptied.com/forums/index.php?topic=6734.0 ] and there are quite a few nice examples in japan most of them in australia seem to b the uglier 2+2 version, however they are eligable for importing, the downside is the import costs pretty much equal the cost of the car in japan (and the interior looks like vomit). although it would be awesome to get one thats already got an rb26 in it its about the only car that tempts me away from getting an s15... Any recommendations for importers that would be able to get their hands on a modified, good condition car?
  24. looks good, since you bought some carbs, whats you're plan with the ITB's? something to play around with when the car's back on the road?
