what i hate about 74 adds is that they are all about 2+2s, i havn't found any 2 seater adds, really want to get one and frame it etc
-
thats harsh, stupid neighbours... how is it really destroying there lifes with you working on the car during normal hours of the day.... hope you can find a loophole, or sulio will help you out etc... very lucky i got my car in the garage and my folks allow it etc.. buha... also my neighbours are car freaks as well, but they don't appreciate me handbraking into my driveway, and my friends leaving clouds of smoke after dropping me off at home...

the brackets are late 280z bodied 260z's in australia... meaning late 75 onwards 2 seaters
-
thats what i was thinking... should i just save and buy one that is good now.... or buy one now and save later... and i did second option, but at least its the better option in knowing what i have done to the car... PICTURES PLEASE
-
i went along but only as a spectator, was interesting good to see a Z top the motorkahna track with a 31.6 which was the red 2 seater 260, thats the lowest i saw was good to see some of the crayz Z's that were there, extremly well presented cars, and some that were all out racers which was nice to see... i was new to it all and didn't really know what was going on with the track work.... someone care to explain

serial number......the car doesnt have a serial number printed on it, that number would come from prevous registration papers the numbers that are on the car are chasis numbers... which are on the plate inside the engine bay... or engraved on the drivers side of the firewall, starting with S30??? the engine number is on the engine block, drivers side, top of the block closest to the firewall, and should start with L24, or L26 or L28 if u are transfering registration then u should get the serial off the prevous owner, if u are registering the car urself after registration has been voided thenyou shouldn't need a serial number they will give you a new one...

i know its a normal answer, but check the yellow pages for sunroof places... most places will fit a new glass roof and new rubbers for around the 3-600 mark... just matters on the place... as i was looking to get my sunroof changed to glass in my old ae86 and i got qouted 550, but that was changing a metal roof vent, kinda thing, to a glass roof.... if you wanna weld it up, ive seen roof skins sell for around the 500 mark, plus shipping...

hey,... in need to buy new side mirrors this week, going the classic flat type, crome etc etc.... but i can't decide if i want just drivers side or both sides... i don't use the passanger side one, but not sure if it looks weird not having one on the passanger side, as my friends are saying that it does look very weird not having mirrors on both sides... POLL TIME

hey what are the main differances between acylic or 2pack (i know i can't spell) as i can wait till jan when i have the money to paint the car 2 pack as id get someone else to paint it, or paint it at home myself in acylic etc next week

Once you go black you never go back, is my saying, black interoir is the best, red white or blue Z that set is the boom, damn i should stop buying off ebay.... credit card is seeing red haha oh well, only a few weeks to go till i start putting stuff back in the Z... bu HA
-
if you think it will be ready by that time 100% with all kinks worked out then go for it, but otherwise don't rush it, especially re-asemble... Im giving myself around 4weeks before i go to hongkong for reassemable then have it on the road by FEB for a good rest of uni exam holiday period... yay uni exams soon, but then fun in asia with my friends... buhahah, damn back to studying and less Z thinking
-
if it was Highpoint Exhaust centre... its the same place i went to... they did for $250 from extractors to supplied muffler for $250, was nice and straight, at 2.25inch
-
to each there own... but IMO, hood scoop, mashed front airdam, headlight covers, and color coded everything is not right in my books, doesn't look right, but the rims are HETICK

yer i didn't want to pay for frieght to queensland, thanks guys for the vic info
-
yo, where do i get a decent dash reskin in vic for my 74
-
not exactly sure if they have made one for a Z, but i know theyve made one for a torana and a few other 10second cars,
-
this would be more easier i would think, as they do it for mostly all imports,
-
gavin knows the exact specs,. but 300zx tt alloy calipers, and and R33 NA rotors will do the trick i think, or custom rotors might be a better go, but Z32 tt calipers are the bomb... cept for GTR brembos, and it still says nissan on the side.. haha
-
as bad as it seems, 3500 isnt that bad of a price considering they are custom etc... but thed just be shortening your struts and welding some coils on etc... just really matters what shocks and other adjustability you can get consider importing some from the US, possibly be cheaper, i havn't looked into it yet,
-
id have to find the actaul number i got it here somewhere... but a place in preston do custom modifications like, for 120ltr droptanks and all tat kinda stuff... the bad news about new tanks that arn't factory will need engineers certificate, as i was told, but it would be heaps better for your setup, as it will also cater the higher pressure fuel needs of a new engine etc many rod type places will do this, but it is expensive, as its not just a tank heaps of baffles inside and al that
-
i bought my project for 2500, was a rolling shell with all parts not on the car... the best year to modify a Z for is the 74 260z, like mine, they are older so better resale, have better rust protection from factory, stronger chassis, and your not wrecking a classic 240z either,... so its the best of both worlds

16 & 17 inch Superlites from Performance Wheels
Natez replied to Toecutter's topic in Wheels and Tyres
hey sulio.... let me know asap once you got the flares on the Z, as i need to see if i like them on the car or not as im not sure what i want to do yet... -
yo welcome... great you will be looking at getting out of a S13, i had a silvia sr20det and floged the shit out of it, now im doing what you are thinking of doing, you are either going to be extremely lucky to find a Z that is in half decent condition for 2k, but just because i couldn't find one doesn't mean you won't Im still undecided about engine options as right now im concentrating on getting the body fixed and sprayed and get the car on the road, so i can actaully remember how it is to drive a Z, but my engine options are either Rb25de non turbo, work it and hopefully get around 140-150rwkw or, rb25det, or rb20det, matters on money wise as they have a big differance in front cut prices or i'll be getting a L28, and working the shit outa that... what kinda budget are you looking at here, these are 30year old cars, and need everything to be replaced, or reworked, especially when you want to put more power down the drivetrain...
-
sorry i didn't see the reply to this thread yes the car was a silvia turbo, sr20det, but it had alota mods so i wouldn't say it would be anything like a sr20de non turbo silvia... but either way, they are a great car to drive, great build quality, and have good sports suspension, bit tend to understeer, with stock suspension.... a 2ltr non turbo still has 100kw and in a 1100kg car, its not to shabby, id buy one as a daily driver if had had more money, as they are hela relaible, will spin the wheels if you get a LSD< and easily converted to turbo, and heaps of cheap parts... even thinking of gettting another sr20det 5spd after i finish the Z, as much as people bag and don't like S13s, with the right setup, they are just as much fun, in a differant way as the Z....
