gav, it will look great, but not with ur current wheel color.... if there were grey or black would look awesome if i can be bothered tonight i'll photoshop a pcture 4 ya also the paint would have to be mostly nicely done, i know your car is in need of a paintjob, but from far away it looks all good, and up close you can just see that it gets driven kinda thing... just make sure if you do it, that you don't do it with spray cans....

here sulio use this http://www.yasasoft.com/yasaavimpegconverter/ this is what i use. to convert raw avi to divx, but i didn't buy it wink wink.... or just google other programs and there might be a few free ones out there... etc i havn't used this yet but i just downloading now http://www.divx.com/divx/create/download/ its divx create, 15 day trial, but im sure if u asked nicely, i'll send you a crack for it when i find it u can just use windows movie creater and it makes it into WMV format, which is good for the net. just drop the resolution as well... to like 640x480.... and 1meg for 1minute is about the normal for video on the net...

as am i wanting to start rust proofing the panels now, nearly all are straight YEEEPEE... where can i purcharse POR15 in melbourne... and how much did you buy it for....

i got adobe premier pro 1.5, gav, its the lastest of the latest i beleive... i do alot of home movie stuff and burn to DVD using adobe Encore DVD 1.5 the programs are a little trickey at the start but they get very free flowing... and easy to use after a while, but i just love how everything with adobe integrates with eachother, photoshop, premier and encore can switch to each program not loosing anything its quite nice... ive taken little 1minute clips of each stage with the Z that i have done, let alone there is only 2 minutes right now, but when im done with the Z i'll make a little 10 or so minute clip about the process etc etc...

i think i have a video of it somewherre doing a burnout, , not sure if it was the same 2+2 that was in the first season thou.,,,

i agree with gav... money no option motec or autronic, with mulitple throttles, tuned to perfection.... this i have heard from people running webbers who have gone to fuel injection getting an extra 20-30hp, on one of those 300hp L series and heaps better low and mid range response, but look at spending 4-6k easy with tuning, and fuel setup and hardware. id go with webbers if i could find them cheapish and i had a fantastic engine to match it, but with the carb option it would just be a in between till i have the cash flow to get fuel injection.... i know when i get older, i don't want to spend hours on the weekend fixing the little things to get the car running, id rather be working on things to make it better and not worrying about the carbs being out of tune.... talk to jeremy, vertexZ, about the 280zx setup, about running costs etc, IMO getting a 280zx injection setup will cost about the same these days as finding a good set of 240z Su carbs anyway, but id still be going the Su's over the 280zx injection....
-
as jeremy said, you must change your ratio... going from a 3.56 to a 3.7 or even better a 3.9 the car will become even more alive... do it do it do it.... you won't regret it, its only an extra 400rpm or so on highways... we are already paying 1.26 a ltr for unleaded who cares about fuel with a Z
-
talk to a engineer before you even pay money for the motor, as they'll tell you what needs to be done so you can work out if its really what you want.. ive been in a rb20det Z and it was a great experiance Any 6 Lseries is a simple engine swap with vicroads, as its the same Series engine but just differant displacement... so its all fine

hey its been about 9 months that ive had my 260z, has it moved under its own power after this 9 months, no, The worst thing is, i've been working on the body for about 3 months trying to get it 100% before i get it resprayed and trying to save up the cash to get all the suspension bits and peices and engine peices that i've always wanted, Yesterday WALKING home from the train station, having a bad day at school and work i just wanted to go home and drive a Z and give it a good trash thou some hills, but NOOOO i've got no running Z car right now do i... all i say is it better be worth it.... Anyone else restoring or rebuilding a Z and just can't stand it sitting still

thats great, ive been in a auto Z, and i just didn't like it at all, i didn't feel in control bet ya feel heaps better corner control, and just more fun

warren... the thick part was the original size of the washer as you just se the original washers and grind them as below all you need to do is with the washers, the are around 1cm thick around that, you need to grind .5cm off, half of the washer, so that one side of the washer is thicker than the other so you get pressure on both objects or else the gasket will blow every time you rev it to 6500... if you don't get what i am saying im sure you will when you put the extractors on, or i'l make a litle diagram i blew 3 gaskets in 7days back when i was 18, the good ol days, do it right the first time and you won't have to take evrything on and off my me and sulio had to do so many times.....

for 50 to 80 you can get the middle muffler removed and a peice welded in no problems... that will make the car louder.. but also drone a bit more on freeway speeds...
-
i remember i got my 2.25inch exhaust done on the Z for 150, that was just for straight piping from the extractors, to the single straight thou muffler....sounded fine and was loud and tough gavs sound is unique as its twin pipes that are straight,

looking at my receipts, the best i found around 4 years ago, was 90 a side as well, that was from mayday in sunshine Only thing to do is to call all the places you know, even Zworx to see what warren can do for ya...

redline is american brand, as far as im aware off, and im sure you might be able to get it at some reputable performance workshops, at a excessive amount of money, but as zedpophile pointed out, its just the same synthtic stuff... in my experiances changing the gearbox oil on a stuffed box will only minorly fix the problem.... save the cash from the oil and fix the box
