All nudge bars were fitted as after market accessory for 240z/260z/280zx/300zx's. But bull bars were fitted in Japan for East African Safari but that's all I know Lynton

Just in case anyone is interested my son has his 1988 Z31 300zxt Californian up for sale on eBay this car has had a lot of personal blood sweat and tears poured into it to make it a very respectable motor car. I personally am very dissapointed to see it go but he has since purchased an S15 GT Spec. I presume he is driving a 240z I had similar problems in a Datsun 2000 Sports many moons ago and the selectors move back because either the clip or lock nut have come loose. I would persist driving a little to see if he can release it out of 2nd while moving with some force and at least get it into fourth gear that is what I did it gave the clutch a hammering on the trip home and you have to allow for hills etc in your driving. When he pulls the selectors out make sure he puts a lock nut back on properly torqued and with a lock pin through the nut or shaft .......worked for me...Lynton

I use Lead replacement in my 260Z every fill but funnily enough my car runs quite well on ULP95 Octane so I don't bother with 98 Octane?? Lynton

They were fitted by me after I purchased the car! I believe when I purchased them they were off Japanese spec rally 240Z race cars used in various parts of the world and the cars were pushed over the side the ship when finished with and into the sea as Nissan could not take the fully assembled cars back into Japan something about duties/taxes and Japanese government regulations I don't know if the information was true and correct at the time but it was a win win for me. They were chrome frames and screws with fitted frame gasket inserted to the frame and very thick perspex almost unbreakable by stones perfectly tailor made Lynton

Gee seeing your new car reminds me of my 260Z I purchased new in 1975 Gold with a cream/white interior and manual of course (see pic). Most 2 seaters were manual and most 2+2's were autos I guess the autos for sale are less desirable and the manuals are held nore sought after and held onto. Bronze body color was more common than the the gold body color at the time. Lynton

Beautiful classic style motorbike of the 30's infact I can see the long black boots and the SS Gestapo with their as beautifully designed swasticker badge & their flowing designed helmets with long black leather trench coats, gloves and goggles......... a bygone era!! even the 30's American style was awesome but the Europeans knew how to design majestic class ....remember the Bugatti's of the 30's (see pic) goes with the bike....Lynton

Well I am still in two minds as to whether I will go? I did go last year and the oval was being renovated so we were placed on an adjacent parklands for the venue which was quite good plenty of trees for shade if you were lucky, however there were less than a handful of any model Zed considering it is sponsored by the Z club of Qld but an excellent turnout of various numbers of alternative Japanese vehicles but to me it seemed more new school than old school maybe I am wrong in my assessment but it was an excellent venue for Japanese cars to be shown with owners who probably have no other car club representation which surely builds Japanese car curiosity and cures interested owners for lusting their cars upon the public certaainly if it is their only annual show and shine or display for all their hard work and presentation? I did go to the Noosa classic car show which I enjoyed and will probably go along again this year in September the variety of really cool classic cars was sensational once again I think only two zeds (one being mine) were on show? This year it clashes with the 40th and Z clubs birthday celebrations but Noosa is closer for me so I think I will be there instead. Lynton

From new when I purchased my 260Z the door locks L & R were same key and only for the doors, the hatch/boot and glove box and petrol flap are a different key again but do all three, the ignition key is separate key again. (3 Keys in all and I think there was even an extra key that could lock the glove box like a master that no other key could unlock it again....Lynton

I enjoyed the pics, I relate to them Mike, mine is blue also but white interior (not leather). It looks like the front needs about 1/2" to 1" of lowering with those fat wheels, they look awsome how is the steering when parking? The only thing I don't like is the "boyzee rear big boy exhaust look" but just my opinion!! I know the triple carbies look better but I am not all that sure they improve performance that dramatically to make it a worthwhile change and it is less easy to home tune as well as being very thirsty on a small fuel tank, they can bog your car down in stop start traffic useage as a daily driver. I notice you mention the problem of choke and warming the car before driving this was part of the practice in the old days you made time to do this before driving off. On a previous Datsun 2000 Sports I owned in 1969 it had a hand throttle you could lock in to keep the revs steady on twin side draft Solex's, similarly this was also on the first 240Z's maybe something of a simple modification to overcome your quick getaways on a cold morning? You will enjoy being a contortionist getting in and out at that low level, make sure you have a really good small light or wear a head band light. The paint code sticker is on the top front drivers side cross member that the top part of the radiator bolts onto. Lynton

I guess the 240Z has a manual power up and power down aerial button like the 260Z? I ended up putting in an auto up/down when radio on and ignition on/off I much prefer Lynton

Don't forget not that many years ago any ordinary basket case Zed S30 was only worth $500 or less so a cheap investment for the officiando's customizing flare!! Lynton
