  1. If anyone gives him a call, can you tell me what ball park figure he's looking at for it?
  2. That's awesome, I might look at laid up cover since my 240z is at home in the garage but won't be covered if there was a fire or similar.
  3. That looks pretty wild, got a link to the article? *edit http://www.superstreetonline.com/features/sstp_1009_nissan_s30_z_nissan_s130z/index.html
  4. Just found this link. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Herring-Haynes-Datsun-t-shirt/
  5. I couldn't find any online. Amazon has some Haynes shirts but no 240z ones. http://www.amazon.co.uk/haynes-t-shirts/
  6. Today I came into work and my boss said he found a T-shirt for me. Turns out it was a pretty cool looking shirt and I thought something you guys might like also. It would be slightly cooler if it said 1969 as oppose to 1977 but any shirt with an S30 Z-car is cool if you ask me.
  7. Never mind just found this: http://jumbosandbox.blogspot.com/ http://jumbosandbox.blogspot.com/2010/09/bideooooo.html http://jumbosandbox.blogspot.com/2010/09/bumpy-san-francisco.html http://jumbosandbox.blogspot.com/2010/09/jdm-angle.html
  8. Where did you get the photos from? Got a link? From an aesthetic point of view of I love this 240z, the rat rod look is definitely different. The purist in me wants to cringe, especially at the weld job and flare job, but anything is fixable and to be honest the responses to this car show that many others love it too. I prefer the wheels he had before.
  9. This build looks incredible. I've seen some of the pics you have been uploading in the gallery and I knew it was going to be a detailed build. Lots of hard work I'm sure. How much power are you expecting to get out of the old L28? It's good to see you went the L28 route. We should definitely get the write up on the homepage once you get this thing fully assembled.
  10. Yeah too manual, the system I want to use is Drupal and that has a "Views" module. The best way to explain it, is a database query builder tool. It makes it really easy to add links to particular pieces of content or display contextual information alongside content. I'll have a think about how it could be done with the current forum software, maybe there is an easy way to do it that I can't think of just yet. Good idea and a good way to get more pageviews of your project thread.
  11. With the current software there isn't really an easy way to make a project journal more findable. If I ever get around to migrating everything (front page articles, gallery and forum) under the 1 piece of software it would actually become a trivial task to set up. Members could also add a link to their project journal from their signatures to make it easy for others. However this is something they have to proactively do.
  12. I like the VDO gauge idea, looks awesome. Hard work but well worth it. I wonder if you can get the tacho to start at 6'clock? Adds a nice touch in my opinion.
  13. It's pretty hard decision but if you feel that the repair will return your pride and joy to as good as new I'd say go for it. I personally have never really liked the Z32 much. I'm still very sentimental when it comes to my first 240z (bought it at 17 working for my uncle as a brick layer), which I sold on and I still think about - mainly because it was so original and I have great memories of driving on my L-plates and seeing my mum drive to pick me up from friends places, just so I could drive the 240z home (she always wanted a 240z herself and she scored some cool points in my book for driving a Z). It's been in the family for so long, that I'd say some day your kids will be pretty sentimental about it too. Then again life is short and maybe you shouldn't restrict yourself to the S30 series all your life? At least that's what I keep telling myself.
  14. Hey mate, Try www.aus300zx.com http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=302177 To me this seems a bit pricey really, but then again all cars in Australia seem to be over-valued after living in Europe where cars loose value so dramatically and nothing is older than 1990 (or at least it's rare to see older than 1990). Best of luck with it, all the same.
  15. Just a reminder.. we haven't had a front page update in a while. I have 1 article in the words and is almost ready to go out, but would be good to have a couple of others to work with and get posted out there. I apologise we haven't had a new car on the homepage for a bit, but I got caught up with work and was on holiday for a couple of weeks there.
  16. found this here... http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39162 looks like engine was pushed back, but also lowered. I read somewhere that the drive shaft was shortened. Seems to be a good modification to me.
  17. Big Sam continued...
  18. Bah, gotta be quick around here. Didn't know you were selling these till now. Would have liked a set for my 240z over the current Superlites. Not to mind, not in a hurry. However if the sale falls through let me know.
  19. Awesome pictures Lurch, I love the way the wheel is in mid-air and the guys are just watching it go by. Back when racing was a lot less safe.
  20. Great car, for those interested this thread looks like it was started by Alan (Albrecht) pretty sure that's his username on zclub.net http://zclub.net/forum/articles-due-imminent-publication/17232-big-sam-octane-magazine-test.html Photos: Definitely 1 of the best looking S30's around.
  21. I like the way you think, maybe we could do a community restoration and the proceeds of the sale go towards a charity. RevZed works with abused kids, so maybe we could work towards an idea like that. Get radio involved and promote the auction on eBay or something? Each of us has different skills: - Bodywork - Paint - Mechanical Who knows maybe even some local businesses would get involved and help out free of charge?
  22. I think the first thing you guys need to establish is what the goal of the project is? - Build a drag race Z? - Build a race car? - Have fun building a community Z with whatever bits you can find? I think it would be good to see an L-series drag car, on a budget. See what you can get from the old L-banger.
  23. +1 - hard to tell from those numbers on the body, although someone with a parts manual may be able to decipher them.
  24. Welcome, it's great to have you here and hope you will be able to help us out when in need . As Lurch has already hinted re: Prince Skyline GTB, I would be interested in knowing more about your collection and if you are willing it would be great to do a write up on your collection for our homepage. Of course I understand if you would rather keep it private at the same time and am just glad we have you as a new member on the site.
