  1. I have a feeling I know where this thread might end up going, so with that in mind can we try and keep it positive around ways to improve it in future?
  2. I thought about it, but it's easy to change the values of anything with Chrome Developer Tools. http://code.google.com/chrome/devtools/docs/overview.html You just select an area of text and insert what you want. It's useful for web development etc.. Same thing in Firefox / Firebug....
  3. Like this?
  4. +1 would be good to get a tutorial on what you did. It's s small thing, but man it makes a difference to the rear of the car.
  5. Hi Dave, Thanks I'm a little behind in updating new donating member stats. I have to do this manually for a couple of reasons. Will do my best to update all recent donating member stats soon.
  6. Where do you see the scratches? Looks pretty clean to me. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1971-Datsun-240z-2D-Coupe-5-SP-Manual-2-4L-Twin-Carb-/250900178079 Item id:250900178079
  7. 240z for sale - white with simmons wheels and retrimmed interior. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/datsun-240z-s-240zs-240-z-1972-coupe-very-rare-/300605004470 Item No. 300605004470
  8. That was great, I recall that 2+2 from classiczcars.com days. You've been in and around Z's for at least 10 years I'd say. It's funny when your a broke uni student or apprentice you think Z's are expensive. However it's only when you buy a car like the 300zx or RX-7 (turbo cars) that you realise how cheap the old 240z is to run. You have a nice collection of engine bits, funny I've done the same thing. Be interested to see what you end up doing with it all.
  9. My first Z is with another member who is not regularly on the site. It was a 73 with battery tray rust, all original (white interior) red exterior (although from factory it was orange). It had good history which I don't have handy (it's at home in Australia), but at 1 stage it was restored to original condition as a wedding present (imagine that!), however the recipient was not very interested in it and it was sold on. I bought it off a fellow in Narre Warren who had been daily driving it for some time and was selling it along with a gold 2+2. Had I known what I do now back then. I would never have sold it. I only sold it after back luck with several other cars and because I needed the garage space for my 72' 240z. I have photos of it after I stripped it with grand plans to do a full bare metal respray and rust treatment. http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=199&page=1 Unfortunately I just didn't have the budget as a student. There are some photos and maybe even a video of it before I stripped it. A friend loved filming and we took some videos of it. Great car and great memories. I'll always remember driving it to a Tennis lesson after spending lots of time polishing it up (even though the red paint was faded it came up pretty good) and the rust was not very visible externally. I'll never forget the stares the car got, people must have been confused to see L-plates on it thinking it was certainly a more expensive machine than it was at the time.
  10. Poor guy, looks like he's stuck with that plate or at least a slight variation.
  11. I think you'll have more luck selling the Smart Car and buying a Z than swapping it for a Z. Seeing as it was 1 of your first posts I'm not sure if others thought you were serious or not.
  12. Looks to be a good restorer, problem is perhaps a little too much money considering how much work is probably there. At least it's complete though from what I can tell.
  13. Very nice original 240z in UK (original Aussie delivered car). http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/3235896.htm I love it.
  14. Didn't even thank me for posting it on the site. No reply or anything..... typical and why I always ignore emails from people like this Just free loaders looking to flog something.
  15. By the way may I ask what the wheels set you back? I was thinking those wheels would look great on my FD RX-7
  16. Whatever works for you, but I use Google Picasa with Great Success. I do actually pay to upgrade my space I think by default picasa is only 1gb of storage but I pay like $20 a year and get 80GB. There is also a good upload utility for it. If you want I could upload it to my own Picasa as a reference?
  17. Awesome wheel choice and nice rust removal work Lurch. My Zed has issues around the same area at the front due to a small front end bingle so hopefully we can sort that out 1 day Lurch .

  20. Very nice you must be happy with that. Car sits just right on that size.
  21. That's the LY cross flow head. At least that's what it looks like.
  22. Where did you get the Gnose from? This will look good when it's all together, the Gnose is very unique and under appreciated by many. It really gives the car more of a Ferrari style to it. Very 60's exotic metal. *edit seek and thou shall find "Arita Speed"
  23. Looking very nice indeed. You'll have to show us that dash also .
  24. On this topic though how about good car covers? I've not had good experiences with a car cover before but I've only had cheapies. If you get a good car cover will it protect the paintwork / body? I mean it's not a garage obviously but I'd be worried say about the paint getting ruined due to trapped moisture under the cover etc...
  25. I was actually thinking about doing something similar, well building an APP that would give you an interface to modify fuel control, boost etc.. Sounds cool.
